Instead of asking for ideas. May be better to say what the budget is. I can send pics for 30k pool to a 300k pool. But if their budget is 25k ideas are just a dream they can’t have. :D

Sandcastle has designers, let those fukrs earn their money

39’x17’ pool w/ 13’x7’ baja shelf. Mini pebble and iridescent glass beads. Attached 8’x8’ raised spa with 16 jets. 2’ raised bond beam wall/planter with 3 sheer descent water features. 2” thick travertine coping. Pentair equipment (heater, filter, 3 pumps, 4 led lights and full automation). 2 Fire bowls (plumbed but not yet installed), gas lines for fireplace and bbq. Water to outdoor shower and bbq. 13 yards of colored concrete decking with top cast exposed aggregate. I sub’d everything out my self...I saved a grip by doing that. The contractor prices in San Diego was/is crazy expensive.

They haven’t committed to a pool builder yet and we are still in escrow. She’s really just looking for some inspiration. The house they are buying backs to a drop off and wash and has an awesome view. They don’t want to spend a ton but want something tasteful. No hot tub...just pool. Figured I’d ask the members. I always love looking at the pool pics you all post anyways.

Pool only with drop off I’d do a vanishing edge or a rim flow pool if awesome view. But that doesn’t go with not a lot of money, lol

Here’s some inspiration pics from splash pools

Really depends on size of backyard, layout, areas to be used for what, budget, future wants and needs. Builders usually offer estimate and at least basic plans/ideas for free. Some do 3d renderings. If it’s a “friend “ get me a plot plan, and I can have Julian give couple design ideas.

20x40, 5.5’ in center, 3.5’ both ends. Lots of fun in there over the last 20 years...

They will regret not doing a hot tub.
Jan insisted we didn't need one "in Havasu" but I did it regardless. It's one of the few times she's really happy I ignored her .

Yeah the hot tub is a must have. I will pull up a picture of our pool we had VanRoy build. It was his first build like it and then he sold like 10 of them after showing people. There was a RDP listed house that had almost an exact build to a tee. Pretty funny.

Sandcastle just finished up our pool today. They are legit. Can’t wait to get into it this weekend. I think your clients would be happy with sandcastle.

Sandcastle did mine as well. They did a very nice job but were 3 months behind schedule and have not responded to a couple issues after the pool was completed. Like not returning any phone calls at all... I spent 75k. [GALLERY=][GALLERY=][/GALLERY][/GALLERY]I would be on the fence about using them again. And I'm building another pool here in havasu shortly.

Simple, dug out what was a sloped yard, retained it and boom, done. Small built in bbq faces the river mouth.

I agree with this. We ended up doing an above ground. Way more comfortable. Ours is on other side of yard near master bedroom door. It gives a nice separation between winter and summer water. Elevated seating area around it. Can see it in background.

Those images that you guys put up are some really nice pools. Ours is almost rectangular, 20 years old and needs some work.

I just took these pics and the wind last night put a lot of leaves plus I laid down the umbrellas. It’s too big, about 66 feet long and 16 feet wide and the deep end is over 8 feet deep (which makes it real hard/expensive to heat in the winter or spring in Palm Desert).....but it all works well. We need to redo the tile and cement around the pool, but there is always something. It’s great for swimming laps.

Do you have a number for VanRoy? Can’t find any info. Advantage is resurfacing our neighbors pool since December and they still aren’t done! My dad and uncle were going to use them as they got a bid from them next winter, but at the rate they are going, probably going to try another company and get a estimate from Sandcastle as well.

Why is that? Typically, how much more?

I (we) don’t charge more. Costs are usually based off of perimeter feet, site conditions, and options
Building geometric shapes is more work, or should I say takes more skill to build correct. But that doesn’t trickle down to owners expense. Unless your building low budget meaning your going with a lower end builder. A lower end builder may not have the skills to build walls square. So in that sense it would cost more to get a builder capable, lol

Mirrors exactly what my builder said. If your guy charges extra or gripes about a rectangle, move on down the road to someone that is competent.
