Not sure if right section or not.
Have a friend that needs about half the boat wiring redone mostly dash stuff.
Any inmates out interested in doing the work at his house. Good guy to work with and I’m sure he would pay fairly.
Like I said Riverside area any help appreciated. I can pass his phone number if interested.

Hard to find a mobile guy. When i was in the wiring business, $250 charge just to load my van and go.

Not totally sure but a mercruiser 4 banger stern drive, Dorsett, late 60s. Super clean and runs just needs the wiring cleaned up. Kinda cool given the color and condition with all the original logos hardware etc.

Those Merc 140 engines kick ass. In 1987 I was working in South Texas, about 20 miles from the head of Baffin Bay, which opens up into the Gulf of Mexico. I had a 1974 16' Galaxy trihull with a 140, and took it out miles into the bay fishing for red snapper and speckled sea trout.

It never missed a beat. Solid dependable, didn't use much gas, and was a great fishing machine.

Hope he finds what he’s looking for. He he’s willing to pay why not take it to a shop? That way if something happens like an electrical fire he’s covered by the shops insurance.

If he has some mechanical competencies I would walk thru some things on a call and over video if he wanted to tackle it. Electrical is one of those voodoo things until you get it in your mind. I even have some schematics I drew up for my Day Cruiser I would share with him for a reference. I remember when I was building my house, complete tear down and rebuild 3,200 sqft plus and the electrical was haunting me until we did my Garage and Dad put on the teacher hat and then all of the sudden... Holy shot I got it. Like eating an Elephant... One bite at a time.

DC and AC are 2 different animals. I work on both but consider DC to be way simpler and easier to understand.

There are several excellent schematics floating around the internet for that engine with a standard gauge, trim, and lighting setup.
