Hi. Now and then photos. I’ve been hanging around and lurking for a couple of years now... since I decided I need to restore my Dad’s old jet bote. Looking for solid information. I’ve enjoyed the content, especially the build threads. And I’ve learned a lot. Thanks. But I’ve been stuck trying to figure out a funny user name to ask some questions. Well. I give up. I’m Rob Johnson. Simple and to the point. And I’m here now. Going to make it work for me. Anyhow. So here’s the boating content. 1970 Rallye Sport Marine Banshee. Probably laid up in Fort Lauderdale. Offshore V bottom, speed boat top. 16’ jet. Custom built and rigged by my Dad with a top gas dragster L88 427 and Berkeley 12JG. Dad said it was radar verified in ‘73 at 103mph. I have no doubt. It is a jet bote after all. Oh sorry. No hot girl pics tonight. Looking forward to interacting with the other inmates here. Thanks. Rob

Was trying to make a joke everyone on ebay that has a jet says it goes 100 mph your dad had one in the seventy’s that must of been one fast boat but welcome to the circus

Welcome , You indeed have what we at JBP refer to as a "legacy boat", Boats of all types have a tendency to get in some peoples blood , very common on our repairs and restos to hear great memory tales of growing up with Dad's/Grandad's/Uncles boats and many go on a quest to find or duplicate that boat , I have a Fresno hull in the shop thats been thru three generations since new .... Cool boat! Welcome to the forum! 100+? Not so much. Lol

My wife’s family was always telling me about this jet boat that ran 100+.. I saw pics of it one day and it was a Hawaiian with an Oldsmobile in it. Stacy looked at me and I said “not so much”. Lol

Thanks RD. Happy to be here and looking forward to getting the old jet boat sea worthy again one day. No longer worried about top speed, just want to get wet and happy. And now I know who to call when we’re ready for Berkeley parts. Cheers!

That boat has had adds on portland craigslist for a few years off and on.. pretty sure it's a scam!
