AZ side of RR bridge. Probably has bluewater lagoon residents stuck in the park.

I bet the Arabs sponsor having a new bridge built pretty quick. I know they have plenty of CNG powered semi trucks if needed to get to port. Going to town for breakfast and check out the fire damage.
Post pictures , of the bridge not breakfast !

The traffic in and out of Parker will be horrendous! I might as well stay in the Oc. :)

Last one I saw looked like a hundred cars in length. o_O

It’s crazy how many containers they haul out in and out

And Double stacked at that. That rail yard out in Bouse is just non stop trucks bringing in full containers and taking out empty’s.

I am down in the Parker rail yard every day for 3 loads , I have not seen see any containers full of hay going out of their all the containers coming eastbound are empties that is what I was told by the train conductors . It's going to affect the plastic cars that I load off that is for sure now the cars staged in Rice on the rail siding are unable to come into rail yard to be unloaded .

They have a rail yard in Bouse. That loads double stacked containers, when they leave Bouse I don’t think they even stop in Parker.

What do you mean by "Plastic Cars" ? Plastic pellets for injection molding ?

There might be a rail yard in Wenden, Salome or possibly in Aguila??

Where is Bouse??

There's a hay operation off of 205 between Vacaville and dunnigan in Calif that now has about 8 huge metal barns storing hay. And lots of container trailers to haul it to port..
What a racket.. Arabs are using our water.

Right past the egg farm on 72 . Everyone thinks that’s just part of the egg farm.

The ones I see are parked almost every weekend for couple hours are for the incoming to pass by and then they are gone by 3 am the containers are in line with empty power cars and LPG cars, I guess the conductors must be uninformed what's inside . All the springs on the cars not so compressed I presume they're empties .

They just started about 6 to 8 months ago. I will take some pictures when I’m out there tomorrow

In the last year the rail yard has hit by arsonist they torched a rail truck and the shop compressor room that also had flammables stored by it .

I’d go with some meth head lit it on fire. Lol
You're probably right but it could have been a hot train (a train with a bad/seized wheel bearing or locked up brake causing sparks to be thrown) but you would also have spot fires along the tracks in the brush.

My guess is that the fire was started by a train. Tie fires happen all the time on the rail road. I have had to put out tie fires many times throughout my railroad career. The dry weather doesn't help RR ties even though they are saturated in cresote. Once they start they are difficult to put out as the center of the tie is actually still burning, they will smoke for days. Hoping this doesn't affect operations too much

It's definitely going to affect me , unless they can bring the rail cars up the east line plus all the cars that in sitting in Rice can't come into Parker now .

Creosote RR ties are extremely toxic when they burn. Creosote is a known cancer causing carcinogen. Hope nobody was exposed to the smoke.

Looks like the local gangs are going be working hard to get the track back in service! Don't forget to thank the Rail Road personnel when you see them up there busting ass to keep your trains moving.

No effect on the vehicle bridge. Traffic is clear both directions. The new road bridge doesn't go under the RR, like the old one.

The blower and electric motor is mounted on front of the trailer and not pto driven, the blower it is power by a 100 hp 480 volts electric motor. At the rail yard there is 8 power poles with locked power boxes with special plugs that I use to power the system on the trailer . At the plant it has the same set up but with only two power supply boxes with plugs , so I can only load the rail cars with that type of power source by them which is set up in Parker only . The blower on the trailer will load and unload 1000 pounds a minute it's faster than a pto driven system

I think that track will down for a while the AZ CA railroad doesn't have a very big track crew here . They probably will bring a crew in from back east from Genesee and Wyoming railroad, that is who owns AZ CA railroad to do the repair .

100 cars? I think that's pretty small compared to the monster trains that come through Tucson. I believe I read that they are typically about 3 miles long and they typically have 3 engines in the middle along with 5 at each end. It's great when I get stuck on Colossal Cave Rd waiting for those monsters to pass.

Is there traffic or congestion in Rice along the 62 to work with the rail cars or is street vehicle traffic unaffected by this fire?

Street traffic unaffected. Hwy 95, 62, 177, etc. No impact whatsoever.

Dam that’s a bummer. My boat was broke so I made 3 trips into town and passed through the smoke each time...

I've heard two weeks to repair, but doesn't all that heat have an effect on the steel and concrete strength?

100 cars used to be a pretty big train, probably still is for an outfit like the A&C.

I assume these are cars that interchange with BNSF, seems like they could just take the route through Williams and interchange up there.
