Does anyone know who supplies essex/laser with the rub rail for their boats? I'm trying to help someone find the source. They won't sell it direct. BUT if I take it to them they will do it for me for a bazillion dollars.

Try “The Boat Body Shop” in Havasu. My brother says the guy has about 10,000 ft of run rail in his shop attic. That’s where he got his.. it had been discontinued for years.

I used these guys for my rub rail - Integrity Marine Products. https://www.integritymarinecorp.com/

My Carrera daycruiser used the typical aluminum rub rail with vinyl insert. Rex Marine had limited amounts/colors in 10’ sticks if I recall. I wanted longer sticks so I had less seams. Taco Marine carries it but it adds up quickly.

I decided to go with a rigid plastic rail with a stainless hollow half circle over it. Integrity Marine was the only company I could find that had something similar to my original size rail and would accommodate the stainless. They’re on the east coast and blew everyone else's prices away, even with the expensive shipping (20’ long tube). There stainless comes in 20’ sticks and so does the rigid plastic rail.

They outfit a lot of offshore boats but had hundreds of styles/sizes available. Again, no one could touch their prices on 20’ sticks of stainless and the quality was top notch.

I just dropped my boat off there Monday...Rod was surprised to see I had old school gold...which he stated he had in his shop if I ever needed...so I would give Boat Body a shot at it...

This is too skinny for my application. My old is like 1.5 inch channeled that a rubber insert goes in. I've been told its called BT1.

They have quite a bit of different sizes. This one is a semi-flexible plastic that accepts the insert. There’s a pdf on their website that lists everything. They have a ton of crap. Most is semi-rigid to rigid plastic base, unless you definitely need aluminum.

I spoke with McRib, for aluminum in the size he wants Taco's the only game left. I told him to check West Marine as they are a Taco dist (I no longer am), outside of that to get from Taco directly. What's he's looking for is 1 1/2", not BT-1, which is 1" and which I have tons of.
