If i remember correctly, its just his bilge vents, the pins hold the hatch shut.

The boat USED to run a twin turbo setup

Dave,

As a suggestion, can you put up the model…IE 21 Rc, 24, power and setup of the featured boats. It would be really informative for myself and some of the other members who are interested in Schiada boats, but don’t know the in and outs of all the models. Thx.

Saw some of them running up and down the strip last week. RD’s favorite and the 24 were heavy on the loud pedal.

Air vents for a twin turbo! This was originally Parnelli Jones’ boat and it is bad ass

That was my first thought, but then i looked back at the pics and it also has a center arrestor for dual carbs too? is one of them a dummy?

Story is, the turbo engine got broken badly, lack of oil if I recall. Then he bought a good used shortblock, built by someone well known and I put it all together. An un-named shop in a town near Parker rebuilt the turbos and the engine ran good for a bit. Then one or both of the rebuilt turbos failed, lost engine oil and another bottom end destroyed.

He decided he wanted an NA engine, bought a new block and put together a 509, thus the flame arrestor. I tried to convince him that his issue was only with whoever did the turbos, that guy tried to say lack of oil cooked the turbos, but no oil in the boat so I am relatively sure it just went out the tail pipes and the driver didn't watch the gauge.

Is the owner of that red and white TT from Huntington Beach? He also owned a Yellow F1 Hallett. I stopped by his house once and chatted, cool guy.

I'd love me a 24 Schiada with a Carson Brummett motor in it, nothing sticking through the hatch to give it away until I stomp the pedal and just vanish in a very loud roar.

Or a somewhat quiet roar when you strap on those hair dryers.

Pretty sure Ive had the pleasure of driving this one under previous ownership. Should have a Banks turbo deal. Good to see the boat still around!

And very large gaps between the back seat bottom and fuel tanks!

Custom hatch hinges by Racey. No external hinges or mounts. Hatch slides forward 6" and then goes up. Ultra 1 off trick. View attachment 1054177
Good looking Steve! I think the boat is pretty special too! o_O👍

That information is only available if you know the secret Schiaparelli handshake.

what’s the reason Schiadas and Hallets are so expensive ? Is it the name or something special vs other boats ; spectra / Campbells ?

Supply / demand, build quality (more careful builds take longer, see supply), classic styling, and name as well. Are there junky schiada’s, absolutely.

I think it’s also fair to note that you can pick up some very affordable stern drive schiada’s

A quality rigged v-drive is extremely labor/time intensive. Most parts are custom built and set up is critical. Not many craftsmen doing them these days.
Complicated set up and a hazard for the river terrain. Love the styling over any 300k boat.

How many folks are still doing V drive setups. I wouldn't think it could be more then 10 world wide.

Schiada, Teague, Boostpower, Connelly, Bergeron, Mike King, ???

You still have that? Do you still have the Daytona?
Yes I still have both boats. The 10' needs to come home for some TLC before another outing. The daytona is in pieces at the moment. Time is a rare commodity these days.

My buddy bought that grey 20' RC with the twin blower deal. Currently giving it a face lift from bow eye to transom... boat was in really bad shape. Should be done this winter.
