believe talking the cross brace, stabilizes bimini side to side at higher speeds.

I saw that ad too. Middle passenger side goes to the back of the passenger double seat and rear drivers side crosses to the top center. It’s supposed to stop the side to side slop. One of these days I’m going to end up replacing mine and I will lengthen it and figure out some way to brace it. I get some serious side to side action when I get into real rough stuff. I’ve even seen them running on the front diagonally to the top of the passenger console (looks terrible).

See above, this dude says his is “double braced”.
Is this a thing?

Looking as close as I can on my phone...

That's one funky set up. The Normal front and rear brace poles appear to be set at slight angles?

Then there is that strange 45 degree brace at the rear on the starboard side.

Maybe it's a thing? I've never seen that before. 🤷

There is another brace on his rear port side at a different angle. I had to go to my pc to see it good, wow that's a lot of pole action going on. Mine has one from center to port side to stabilize the side to side action at some speed. Front is straps, I stay under 45 when its up just trying to keep it.

I figured this was to get into the hatch. I have 2 solid bars in the back not straps and I can't get into my hatch. I've yet to see one rated for plus 45 mph regardless of the bracing.

The 1 inch diameter tube is supposed to be rated for higher speeds.

My conquest was “double braced”
Starboard side back pole had brace behind driver seat
port side front pole brace to rail at ice chest ( hard to see in pic )
Nothing special, pretty much every Bimini with all pole set up has cross braces
And yes I went well beyond 45 with that Bimini up. Closer to 100 range while up and long runs

Never liked our Bimini on x-flight.
It needed more bracing. Even with the open mesh style material it was weak with wind..(didn't care for it moving so much)
friends of ours had a front brace put on to make it stronger.. we got rid of boat before doing that..
The blue line is where they attach rear bar now..
The red line is where it needs another brace added like our friends did to theres..(they sold there x-flight also)..

On the 100mph runs, how many braces did you need on your engine 😂;)

The rear poles on my Cobalt bimini are adjustable up to about an inch, maybe an inch and a half. When I put the bimini up they are all the way loose but as we boat the wind stretches the fabric and we start adjusting the rear poles a bit to take out slop during the week of boating. I wonder if adjustable poles would help on these biminis. That's the nice thing about straps, you can adjust them based on conditions and fabric stretch.

I wouldnt claim to be double braced if I still had straps in the mix.

To me a double brace is a rod fore and aft.

I was able to strut my bimini to the radar arch to deflect side movement.

Mine is similar to this...

One pole at a 45, mounts to the boat and the top.

Didn't know they called it "double braced" though. It just came with my top.
