Seller is trying to back out.

I tried to leave a deposit but they said it wasn’t needed.
Now they have another buyer and want a deposit.

When you guys give deposits do you give cash?
This guy already wants to sell it after our deal which I understand. (First with cash in hand wins )

but wanting a cash deposit after he has another offer? What’s to keep him from taking my cash and selling it anyway?

Elaborate a little more. What's keeping you from completing the deal?

He wants a guarantee that you are working on the $$$ before losing out and a cash sale. How much of a deposit he is asking $500-1000? if you can not secure financing then he keeps the money. Its trusts that he doesn't sell it and keeps the deposit.

Financing from credit union. Was already pre approved before we looked at it. And we are putting down $5,000
So it’s just a matter of the paperwork getting to the right desk for them to cut the check.

They haven’t given me a number. My fear is they just keep my cash and sell it to the other guy.

i already sent them a picture of the 5k cash I will be giving them on top of the check from my credit union.
It booked for 34k and I’m buying for less than that plus my down. So it’s merely process time at this point.

I would leave a deposit. The safeguards are you probably know where he lives now, have his contact numbers etc. You could make his life pretty bad if he effed you.

Currently building this one. 2004 LJ Unlimited. I’m putting an Eaton True Trac in the rear with an Eaton e locker in the front. 5:13 gears, I picked up a 4” short arm lift with Currie springs, Rock Johnny double adjustable control arms, Fox Shocks, sway bar disconnect and will ad a slip yoke eliminator. This is my first Jeep. The GF has wanted one for a long time. View attachment 981454 View attachment 981455
Good looking Jeep. I don't know much about anything, but wanted to throw this out there. I'm having my 04 TJ upgraded w/ the Currie Rock Jock short arm as well (and some other fun stuff) Rock Tech (the shop building it) said to pass on fancy fox shocks, said its not needed...said no need on a crawler & I would be better off putting that money into other items, . Again I don't know anything bout shocks / suspension, just what I was told.

Give him $500 to hold it and it also shows that you have skin in the game.... Again there is a bit of faith on either side. Getting money from the bank can take weeks.

My bank is usually pretty good. I have gotten a check in 1 day. Worst was like 3 or 4.

Don't be upset if the guys doesn't want to wait if he has someone on the hook with cash and sells it... cause you didn't give a deposit hoping the bank gives you money in a few days.

I originally offered a deposit and was declined.

I have no problem if he wants to sell it to someone with cash standing in front of him.

I wouldn’t ask for a deposit if a guy was standing in front of me with cash.

I’m on hold with the bank right now trying to get an ETA

Well that sucks. If they didn't want a cash deposit before, why the request now? I get it, they have another buyer, but that is just shitty business. Hopefully you are able to work it out.

I have a 2016 rubicon with factory 4:10 gearing on "35"s... and it runs on the street and hwy really good at about 14-15 mpg. BUT here's what a Toyo 35 measures straight across (unweighted spare) ... 33.5 inches. My computer is calibrated on a 33.5 inch tires but my wallet and ego paid for a "35".

My Rubicon with Toyo’s measure exactly the same. It works fine with the stock 4:10 gears. But I wish the tires were taller.

Northridge4x4 shows they have brackets in stock, but shipping time may put it past when you leave.

This bitch is zipped tied and duct taped for chaffing prevention.

I cycled the suspension with the sway bar connected and I have barely enough slack in the lines. So as long as I don’t disconnect it I should be good.

will order brackets next week. Looks like the rear needs it as well.

Well first trip went well. Got myself into a little situation had to deploy the winch and borrow some traction boards.

Here she is all dirty. And then all cleaned up.

I have a few issues to work out. And hopefully find a rattle that seems to be coming from inside passenger dash area.

On one of our first trips out my wife heard a crunching sound and asked what's that, I ripped off one of rear fenders. Few minutes later she commented there goes the other one. The 35" tires with the offset I have like to reach up and grab things on extreme articulation LOL

Don't relocate the bracket. Have proper hoses made for it. Find a BrakeQuip dealer in your area and they will fix you up. Nice looking Jeep!

Define reasonable? 🤣 Remember what JEEP means. I did the KC PRO6 LED's they aren't cheap but quality and light output is awesome.
