School me on old Howard’s because I don’t like having money

I set up an initial meeting to look at a 1966 Howard this afternoon. I’ve read through most of the threads on here about Howards and Casale v-drives buy haven’t seen anything recent. What should I be looking for? Where else can I find good first-hand info?

I understand two things:
- they are built well
- the non-split case is a nightmare

Been throwing around the idea of a fun boat project for my father and I to tinker with this winter. I think this will get my oldest brother hanging around their house more too.

We couldn’t make it work yesterday. He had to push it back for work and I wasn’t able to make the later timeframe work.

Switching up plans today and stopping by on my way to Canyon Lake.

I think at the right price it’s a good buy for someone who wants to restore it.
