You know , I've held back commenting on some videos I've been watching on Facebook . I've noticed a higher ratio of Blacks to non-Blacks walking the streets . I know that blacks make up 11-13% of our population , why the sudden surge in Vegas ? I'm not trying to make this a race issue , just an observation . I did read about a surge in crimes , and wonder if this is related .

Do you think we are witnessing the beginning of the end for Vegas ?

If they don't get this shit in check it could be the beginning of the end.

I was down at Fremont early June, about a week after the first Floyd riots, People were happy, all colors, no masks, atmosphere was peaceful and good, decent sized crowds.

I went back late July early August, 180 degree difference, sparse crowd, those that were there were 80% thug trash, masked, generally you had your head on a swivel and eyes in the back of your head, casinos dead. Atmosphere was not good at all, You go to the restaurant, eat, and gtfo, you didn't want to be hanging around at all.

My take is that since they have had all the bars closed, regular normal patrons aren't there, you couldn't just walk up to anywhere and get a beer, in fact i had to hit the ABC store on Freemont to get a couple beers while we were waiting for our reservation at Hugo's. Since the regular people aren't there the atmosphere sucks, and the trash is all that's left, people that aren't really spending money but just looking for somewhere to go screw off. Maybe they are always there but just get lost in the crowd when there are a bunch of regular customers there. The atmosphere sucks like this, and Vegas is all about atmosphere.

I have a CCW good for NV but was told not in Clark Co.?
If you have a NV approved reciprocity state license you are permitted in Clark County, make sure you check the recip sites to assure your state is on the list...

So if I’m reading between the lines here with any sort of accuracy, what I’m hearing is that predominantly black thugs from LA have taken over the strip due to discount pricing and lack of law enforcement?

Kind of like what happens in every ghetto in America?
Or am I just lacking in subtlety?

at 1:30 in the video "wynn increased room rates..."

so basically the way to get rid of the trash in the community is just make it too expensive for them to be there in the first place. got it.

Vegas has always had that element. Has it gotten worse lately? Seems like it but then again there are not as many people so it stands out more. Inside the casinos was fine. Like anywhere, look for trouble and you'll find it.

I wish my friend would take after your wife.....but she isn't unfortunately. Im worried about her. She is good lookin little countryish girl in her early 30's....i told her to just go check out the grand canyon instead or something.....but she aint having any of that....makes me very uneasy seeing all of this going on there and with the way the country is right now....and it would be a different story if she could bring her glock with her but obviously can't....😥😣

If you read the whole thread and watch the attachments, I’d say it’s gotten worse. And not as many people means we’ll stand out more too.

South side of town when coming in to Vegas.... Close to the South Point Hotel... I've stayed there years ago and it was nice, but heard its gone to shit now......

I have time shares so checking in to the Grand View..... I scored rooms there 3 years ago for 99 a week, it worked out when needing 7 rooms.

Both our trips this summer were midweek. Definitely less crowded overall but scooters were still doing donuts. In August we walked through one poorly lit area just north of the Aria that sketched me out a tad but without any incident(it was just my radar beeping). In July we walked from the Wynn to Linq Promenade(high roller wheel) with zero issues other than a few scooters. Both times my wife was dressed to kill so I'm always on high alert anyhow.😊😊

Have no idea if Vegas is still like this, but when we appeared in Vegas we had to be registered with the Clark County Sheriff's office, ID photos and records checked. Couple of our guys were under 21. They were allowed to only pass thru the casino directly to the showroom and/or our dressing room. Different times, same place. LV needs to get this current thug situation ended and ended quick.

Just copied from today's LVRJ>>>>>>>>>>>>Business owners and Las Vegas police have taken notice of a new phenomenon on the Strip during recent months of the coronavirus pandemic: more young people are renting mobility scooters.

Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Jose Hernandez, who is assigned to the area command that covers the Strip, said Saturday that officers are working with the scooter rental companies to reduce the number of people renting them for “convenience.”

He said large groups of people on scooters, who don’t have visible disabilities, have appeared in the past two months and pose a safety risk for pedestrians.

“I’m not saying they go super fast, but they move rather quickly, especially when they’re going around pedestrians,” Hernandez said.

Not only safety issues

Along with safety issues, a few cases have occurred in which a rider has used a scooter “in commission of certain crimes.” Hernandez said police caught one rider selling drugs from a scooter, while another stabbed a pedestrian who was walking next to him.

John Vizcarra, the director of operations for the Stage Door Casino, said in a phone interview Friday that he has noticed the uptick of scooters on roads, on sidewalks and occasionally inside his business.

“People … are getting them because they want a joyride or they don’t want to walk. I think that’s not the intent,” he said.

In July, one rider accidentally pressed the gas when meaning to brake and crashed into the bar’s front door, damaging it and costing the business $1,300, Vizcarra said.

Hernandez said police are working with rental companies to implement new procedures including age limits for rentals, restrictions prohibiting large groups and better systems to track who rents each scooter.

“We’re not going to ask someone to verify what their disability is; according to (the Americans with Disabilities Act) certain questions can’t be asked,” he said, adding that police would like to limit people who are “renting them for purposes of convenience.”

‘They’ll get mad’

Emerson Kruger, the owner of 702 Scooters rental service, recently added a notice to his website informing people that rentals are meant for “people with disabilities and our seniors.” During a phone interview Friday, Kruger said some people he tries to turn away get confrontational.

“They don’t go easily; they’ll get mad,” he said. “They even come to my office and they get crazy.”

When Kruger opened again after shutdown orders, his business was slow because of fewer older tourists and convention guests during the pandemic.

Now, nearly 90 percent of his business is young people renting the scooters, he said. He worries about having to turn away people who wouldn’t be able to get around without one.

Kruger said his company provides all customers with safety instructions to operate the scooters, but he can’t control how people drive them. But the crowds keep coming.

They need a very large id number on them so property owners can file claims for damages against the company renting them . Elevator doors are being damaged all over town by them along with everything else . If the cost was put back on the renter or the rental company it might settle down the hoodlums

I’ve gone 4 times in the past couple months. Its not that bad. Stay in the casinos and have fun. I’ve never felt threatened or in a scary situation. Just be aware of your surroundings if you’re walking out in the strip at night.

You can pretty much walk from NY NY to Caesars palace without exiting the casinos. Couple places you have to cross a bridge but there’s a lot of people walking around. You’ll be fine.
