Ok, just curious if anyone know who was flying this plane. I got lots of photos of him doing some practice touch and go's on the river this morning right in front of my river house. It was cool to watch. Also any info on this type of plane? I've never seen one like it before.

Talked to one of my friends who lives in Parker, "loud" was the first word out of his mouth when I asked if he saw it this morning.

Stupid question....

Does it have landing gear also, or can it only land on water?

It has landing gear also. In one of the pics you can see the wheels tucked up into the wings.

I heard it, but was too far up river to see it land and take off. I was wondering what was going on.

Tail dragger with retractable wing gear it looks like. you can see the roller skate wheel in the tail.

It's a tricycle gear. The nose wheel fold forward into the bow. The gear doors are part of the hull.

Knew a guy in the Keys years ago had 1 for about 2 years. He sold it. Bought it back twice with what he had to pay in insurance. Ridiculous amount.

Must be fun turning into a boat as soon as you land and seeing that water right next to you.

Thanks for all the comments and info on this plane. I was hoping to locate the pilot and give him all the photos I took that morning. I have like 30 of them. Here are a few more.

When he was at pirates he was teaching a man from Germany how to land and take off. That thing was so loud that he pulled up on the ramp and It sounded like he was outside my door !!!!!!

Thanks Dave! Just bought a new 55mm - 250mm zoom lens for my Canon SLR. Pretty happy with it. Takes really good close ups and the color is great also.
