Howdy,
I have some coins and 2 Rolex watches that want to unload.

I no zero about this kind of stuff.

I tried to look up prices for about 3 hrs on some of this shit.
**What a rabbit hole that was**
But prices (at least to me) seem to be all over the place for the same exact coin and even the watches somewhat.

My questions:
1) Anyone use a good, honest coin shop in the Phoenix area?

2) What is the biggest thing I need to know when unloading coins?
Besides "doing my homework"

Thank you RD Peeps

As long as you have papers, box and for most older watches rolex card you will get top dollar, secondary market Rolex resellers usually mark up 500-1500 on their used watches unless they score big from an unsuspecting seller. If the watch is naked (no box, papers, card for older) you will get an average of 10-15% less. What do you have?

The Yacht-Master does not look correct to me. I’m certainly no expect on Neo-vintage Rolex. It just looks off, the bezel should be platinum and it looks like steel. The dial I’ve not seen before either.

Datejust i have no idea.

I know an honest coin guy in San Diego. He buys jewelry, coins, etc. I don't think he does watches.

I would say everything is worth about $10K.
When can I pick it all up?

All I know about old collectible coins is don’t clean them, for what ever reason it hurts the value.
watches look good still have the sticker on the back side
the Yacht master depending on condition, sells in stores used for 8-10k

The 2 digits of each number on the face on yours are straight, like they are typed on a straight line. The one on the right has number that are that follow the arc of the face, like they were typed on a curved line.

They're also inconsistent. Look at what would be the top of each "0" and the relationship to the OD of the face....that can't be a real one.

Bezel looks to be steel. Date looks wrong. Dial hour markers look wrong. The crystal appears to be domed. Never seen a dial with that sheen. The rehaut has a weird reflection. And this could all just be the photo is not the greatest. Like I said, I’m not a pro at this. One of my wife’s watches is this model from the 90’s and it just does not look correct.

I’d place a bet the Yacht Master is a fugazi.

Date Just, not sure but guessing it is because the other one is. The dial doesn’t look right either.

If they’re real to get anything more than $100 you need to get them certified. No box no paper’s hurts too.

Maybe try a pawn shop to get an idea on the watches? They’d be the first to tell you if they are real or not I believe? I agree the YM looks a little suspicious, but honestly can’t say for sure. I also believe the 1/2 dollars that have “Uncirc” on the baggies are not going to be evaluated as uncirculated. In a baggie touching each other, (scratching the surface), will not be evaluated the same as a mirror like finish. JMO, I’m sure there is value in a lot of the stuff. Good Luck!

For the coins there is mist definitely a "book" value. Every coin ship uses the same "bible". But where they differ is how much they will want from you to deal with you.

There used to be numerous coin stores here locally. I don't know of any now. Probably all online and working from home to avoid overhead.

30 years ago a cousin out of state had a large collection to get rid of. We found if you brought a lot of them in to sell they offered a lot less.

We ended up bringing in 5 or less to about 8 shops over a year. It yielded triple what his offers were on the whole collection.

In hindsight he should of never sold them. The 1 ounce gold coins fetched $330-350

Some of the Morgan dollars were 6-1200.

Can't imagine what it would be worth now.

Ya,
I have zero clue about any this kind of crap.
But
I'll find a place and let "you people" know what's what.!

I'll either hit up the Wendy's $1 menu
Or
The RDP Boat Classified section!
😁

A family member just did this.
There are coin apps available that will give an estimated grade when you submit pictures and will tell you what the coins are worth based on that grade. Also, it will show you options to sell it.

I like that idea.
I'll search around the interwebs.

I'd be interested in the coins. Let me know when you find out, unless you want to sell the whole lot

The women’s watch with gold trim, measure the diameter in mm. It makes a difference, too bad it does not have the diamonds inside,
Wifey has one that does, large face, paid 17.5 new,
FYI.
A Susan B Anthony dollar coins are only worth about $1.50 apiece unless they have different stamps on them or an error so you really need an expert to look at every single one you ever rare one. It could be with 2G.

The coins will need to be graded before a value can be determined. Most are only worth their weight in silver. The 1911 liberty nickle is in terrible condition so probably not worth collector value.

That Nazi coin is cool as hell, my buddy inherited an 8mm Mouser (he's 3rd gen) with a Nazi Swastika stamped into the receiver. It was a trip to shoot a piece like that and then to turn around and shoot my family's Springfield 1903 that also fought in WW2.

I'm sorry you seem to be getting nothing but bad news and I will also kick you when you're down.

Rolex would never have let the cuts in the crown and case back leave the factory looking like they were cut with a dull Dremel. Rolexs are watches that are jewelry.

Also looking at the coins nothing looks especially rare. The Silver Eagles are worth about $35ish retail and a coin shop should pay you between 27-$30 each but the Susan B Anthony coins and all the president dollar coins are worth the $1 face value.

If the two green top tubes are Silver Eagle 20 piece tubes you have about $600 each so looking at everthing American you might have a three grand or so.

The foreign stuff..... ebay history for values or stick in a jar and let it become someone elses issue when you go.

Hold on to your eagles and morgons. Take your time on the rest of the coins, coins are another expensive sometimes surprising limit and scarcity, don't dump them!

With the watches no one is professionals here if you think they are real have them checked. Im big into luxury watches and i have some doubts with what I see.. If you are able to open them up and take a picture of the movement it would be alot easier to see if its real or not.

Easy to find out, go to a AD or reputable reseller that deals in Rolex Watches and show them the watches and see what they say.

Here I am drooling at your coin collection! Little side hustle of mine is evaluating coin collections for mint errors. If I find one, I send it off to PCGS for grading/slabbing, customer gives me a slice of value that PCGS assigns to it. It's time consuming but if you have someone that can do this for you, go that route. A local coin dealer might perform this service for you.

At least check ALL of your coins for a W (West Point) or S (San Francisco) mint mark. Look for cameo/deep cameo strikes. If your Eagles are W's, you're sitting on a new boat! Regarding your Eisenhower dollars and Kennedy Halves, look for the ones that really jump out at you, shiny AF and not beat to hell. They all look good to me from the image. Despite being stored in bags with other coins, they would still grade and/or resell as uncirculated because there's no wear on them, dings and light scratches are pretty common straight from the mint. Some of the mint errors on the Bicentennial dollars and halves can fetch hundreds.

If your 1996 Proof set is the silver version instead of clad, those coins individually are worth a lot more than the set. If the set has cameo/deep cameo strikes, those are worth much more than face value regardless of silver or clad. Proof sets are damn near the only way to get a high grade from PCGS or any other grading company.

Some 1979 SBA dollars have a variety "error" (Wide Rim) that brings a premium. The Presidential and Sacagawea coins have error and varieties too.

Check the date/mint mark on the Buffalo nickel, it could be a keeper. Looks like you have a few wheat cents and one steel cent in the mixed lot. Some of those foreign coins that look silver might actually be silver.
