That is the question.

Is the popular boat builder "Schiada" pronounced

Shee-a-da, as in, "she oughta take her clothes off"

OR

Shy-a-da, as in, Shy-a-da

Just wondering..

Thanks in advance.:D

That one's easy compared to the proper way to pronounce Tige'

Is it Ty Ga, or
Tee ga, or
Tyg, or
Teeg? :D

I grew up around these boats and the people that owned them always called them Shy-a-dahs. I have never heard it said the other way. One day, I hope to own one and then I will know for sure:D

From the Schiada Nota Regatta thread

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

White t-shirts with Schiada window stickers.

Which just made me think, how come some people can't pronounce Schiada?

I have a good friend that says Sha Hada, heavy on the H.

We even had him practice, say Shy.......say Ada.

He can't do it.:point:lmao

They are called Tige, like a black person trying to say tiger.

That's funny... LOL

I always thought they were Tee shay.. or something like that.. Like some people call Target Tarshay, (not even sure how you'd spell that pronounciation)

They call it Tarshe since it sounds more "upper class". More of a french snooty store.:D

From time to time I think about how fucked up it is to learn English as a second language.

So many things make it confusing, even to us Americans.

Route......does it rhyme with boot or with spout.
Do, due, dew all sound the same but have totally different meanings.

Weight, wait.

So many more.

I'm still gonna say Shee-ah-da:D
