Reading a few of these, thought of a friend who just moved away. He's 65, and retired. Did well with some sort of electrical engineering. Had lived in China overseeing production for an American company.
He got married in the early 2000's, when he moved back stateside. Moved out here 10 years ago. His ailing father lived with him until he passed...a short time later, his wife split.
Well, he made a package deal, cars, tractor, properties, all of it, to a guy out here. He said F' it, I'm out. He bought a small place on the Gulf side of Florida, on the water, small marina type development.
"Change of latitude, change of attitude" is what he told me. I'll miss seeing him at Saturday coffee, but good for him! He was taking a tv, a chest of drawers and his bed. Starting over. Not a fisherman or a boater, but he's thinking he may try it.
