Slip In Mufflers ???

I'm looking for some info on mufflers. Will the slip in style silencers help quiet things down at cruising speeds with a Merc 525? Currently have 4" tips with flaps.

Check out GGB. The ones you posted will be too restrictive for a 525.

Do not use the slip in silencer you showed. I have a pair sitting on the garage floor. Those slip ins do reduce the sound about 6 dB but on my small block choked WOT rpm by 300-500. With a 525 it will be even worse.

Get the GGB inserts. They make several types and sizes. Get the performance model (I think that's the term) which has a bigger inside diameter. Lengths vary from 5 to 8 or more rings. I use the 5 ring performance model now and get the same dB reduction with no rpm loss. Sound is actually better too.
