Wow.
Why are the newer motors so much heavier???

... because everyone wants a 4 stroke or a direct injected 2 stroke.

A Merc 2.5l can put out 300+hp and weighs in at 175# (powerhead only).

As amazing as they were, we will all soon be engulfed in ocean because of them. Personally, I feel that's a small price to pay.

Good info, but that's all on a 16' boat where weight of a 50 doesn't play a huge factor.. on a 10'er it does..

How about a Big Johnson :D. Might be a good idea if there was more than 4 or 5 ever built.

Didn't you have some rotaries @ some point? Something about a snomobile rotary - thought I saw some pics somewhere.
