Non-Inverter gen they are offering for a $1000 with a $500 rebate in all reality is a basic $500 gen to start with.

It could fry sensitive electronics, I would pass.

I have a genny from my last wildfire experience in the San Bernardino Mountains. 10kW start/8kW running Kohler (gas only), but I'm looking into getting a transfer switch and input wired into my electrical panel because I think I'm going to need it a lot more and being able to pull the house off the grid and run most of the house with the genny is going to be much better than just running extension cords all over the house. Probably several hundred dollars for the parts and labor but now more worth it.

We ended up getting a Champion 10k unit for about $500 with Home Depot sale and SCE rebate.

That firman dual fuel 4000W unit that Costco had a deal on a few months back is eligible….of course, my zip code is not. Dang it.

Get up to a $500 Rebate for purchasing a Power Generator, are enrolled in CARE, FERA or Medical Baseline Allowance, and you reside in a HFRA zip code.

Wish they offered one that doesn’t sound like a 12v Cummins idling outside my window
They do and you can claim the rebate on a previous purchase. I don't qualify as I don't live in a fire threat area.

We will see if this bullshit works? I ordered the Champion gas/propane for $500. However, I had to have it sent to my Bullhead place since Lawmakers are idiots in California. It should be there while I am there for Memorial Weekend. I can't wait to charge my Volt with it. lol

Build a home in the hills with trees and dry brush and then blame SCE for fires because of a line blowing down.
“Why don’t they just put the powerlines underground” 😂

That’s what I hear everyone say about Havasu. 😂

I hate all the overhead power lines in Havasu.
Maybe SCE should charge the people in the fire impact areas to pay for high voltage underground lines.

I hate looking at them also, unfortunately I live in the area that doesn’t have underground utilities. Only a couple of old areas of town do.

There are cities in SCE service territory that are going underground with electrical service. It does cost
