I was thinking about making a "sticky" or better yet some sort of online "spreadsheet" where people could put up whatever gears they had, wanted to sell, wanted to trade, and what they were looking for..

So that people could quickly reference who has what, and where to get it etc..

Good idea? Bad idea?

My tech guy is slammed at work today.. So I'm going to have to talk to him about this after 5:00 today / tomorrow..

In the meantime keep posting the gears up here, and I'll make sure they all get entered into the spreadsheet. :)

I'd like to see it where members can post their gears, wanted / traded etc.. Like the calendar on the site. So it's self updating.

I talked to him about this, and I'm not really sure what a good way to do it is online.. A spreadsheet is easy enough, but making it accessible to everybody, and keeping it updated (I.E. someone selling gears and then never removing them from the list) would be kind of a nightmare.

Any suggestions?

I thought you had 29's in your box. I pulled the v-drive out of the green boat and am bringing it home with me. It has 34's which would be a good start for your deal. 34's and one of the props I gave you should get your attention!

I think there are 25's in the box right now.

I just checked. I have a set of 43's that the previous owner gave me when I bought the boat. I think I am going to give them a shot :champagne:

The shafts in the v-drive have 21 splines on the bottom and 20 splines on top.

You need to add options for spline type and size, gear pitch, gears for a casale box are not just as simple as the ratios, there are a bunch of other things going on. Just bringing that to attention, It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to be able to attach pictures to the spreadsheet as well so whoever is buying can verify they are getting what they need.

Not sure if we can add pictures to it.. I think this deal is done though, so Forensic can put it up when he gets back from the river. :)
