What is that you get out of RDP? I try to explain all kinds of things. Info on boating, SXS, cars, motorcycles of all kinds, RV info, stuff to do, were to ride, liquor info and all kinds of performance parts. Even BBQ info and quality timepiece’s!

She just looked at me with a blank stare! Lol

So then I say what do you get out of Pinterest? Besides stuff from China you don’t like? Lol.

Anyone have these types of conversations? Pretty funny.

I can relate. I've been the site administrator for another forum for quite a few years now. The wife never understood my involvement with forums but over the years she has come to terms with it. She actually has an appreciation for RDP , in part because she knows and likes Dave and Stacy but she has also come to realize that there is an incredible amount of shared knowledge and info about things that we share an interest in with this particular community..

My wife is on face space...keeping up with friends from high school and such. Most of my "youth" friends are jackholes and convicts now. No reason for me to keep in touch. Here, I find a "better group of jackholes" ;) . For the most part, everyone here has goals, and knowledge to share. There aren't a lot of questions you can't get an answer to. Pretty broad spectrum of both knowledge and personalities.

9 years on rdp and she just now asked? LOL
My wife is an innate, just almost never posts. A large part of our friends circle was conceived on rdp.

I actually told her she should sign up and see what it’s about. She was like na. Neither of us are on face book, Instagram etc.

We both were on face book but it actually caused problems. So we decided together it wasn’t good for. That was 6 years ago. It was a good decision.

Stranger than fiction fact number 87!

At Desert Storm during the street fair I will get yelled at or borderline cursed out by 3-5 women saying their husbands ignore them at night while on rdp in bed.

The first time it happened I thought the lady was joking and I kinda laughed it off.. I learned quickly that is not the correct response.. They aren’t joking.

Stranger than fiction fact number 88!

Of those 3-5 women 80+ % of them are usually pretty hot.. gotta be High maintenance AF but hot none the less.

When ever we are going somewhere, she always says "What does the River have to say about that". We have had some really great tips through the years.
My non RDP friends now understand what it's about after I took them to Shiver River. Keep it up Inmates!

That’s pretty funny. But I don’t really surf RDP in bed. But I do think she is pretty hot

I've discovered true love at my retirement age. A wife whose financial management paid off all the assets (two houses, all vehicles) and at the same time bought me nearly $20000 in tools to help me do stuff in my old age (including a 4 post lift). When you get old and ugly is when you start to figure out what really matters.

Funny, a lot of times when I am telling friends of new information I saw, I usually say I read it on the place I get all my information from RDP. Could be the latest celebrity death, earth quake, best smoker, or binge tv to watch. Seems RDP is usually ahead of the other news sources reporting on it.

RDP is the last of the real men's club. It has always been that men need to get together to laugh, talk, joke and network without filters. That is all being taken away as I watch the years go by. Hopefully Dave will stay with it instead of going out and getting a real job. LOL

A group of like minded individuals. This site really helped me through some dark times when I was dealing with my numerous surgeries from kidney stone issues. I was actally surprised how many get well cards I received from people I've never met in person.

RDP- Like a virtual garage/man cave. we agree to disagree, talk smack, shoot the breeze talk about boats, boats and more boats among other worldly matters. Don't like a topic? move on. there are no boundaries or geographic restraints.
The humor can be funny and yes, even sometimes offensive, but again, it's like a giant bar, no ones forced to to be here, just (mostly) guys doing what guys do.

Females don’t really seem to understand camaraderie... Like playing football in high school, having a bunch of guys with a common goal, interest or view. I wasn’t in the military, has to be much stronger even for the guys that were.
She likes the river and boating, just nowhere near as much as I do.

Me too. I love coming here and just talking boats. New, old, whatever. I joined RDP when I was feeling really homesick and acquired my Ultra. I initially only joined to have a place to document the rehab but I found a group of like minded individuals who I genuinely enjoy conversing with and have even been able to meet a few in person. That has been particularly good for this very introverted fucktard. 😀

Tapatalk is all I use, unless I’m posting ads, then I use my laptop. So for those of you who don’t have Tapatalk. Here’s what the thread preview looks like. It usually pics the last picture posted, not always though. Sometimes it’s random.

Never fucking fails, anytime I’m scrolling RDP. One of the good morning threads pops up. I literally never even open those threads. Then I get the “who is that? How long are gonna look at her?” I’m like wtf. Never understood the obsession of looking at or posting random pics of chicks, chicks you’re never going to meet. I can’t imagine what the thread starters wives think when they look at their hard drive. Anyhow that thread gets me more grief than anything I do on my phone. I can straight up watch porn and she’s good with it. Chicks in bathing suits, she must figure we know them and she gets pissed.

I think is the closest description of the reason I come here too. Wifey has always known about it, but can't say shit since she and her friends are on FB. I think before FB, then yes, she shook her head in disbelief.

I went to a barber shop for 20+ years. The kind of place where you went in, guys talked shit to each other, there was a fist fight here and there over exchanged words, and they cut your hair for $8. In the middle of the barrio, too. Sadly, Covid took out my barber of 20+ years, and most recently, the owner of the shop who cut hair for 50-years, died of Covid. I sat next to him not more than 60-days ago and he told me to take my mask off; didn't need that shit in his shop...

Anyways, my hair is longer than it's ever been because the new "barber shops" are not barber shops at all. They want to shave you, give you a "fade", charge you for beers and you need to make an appointment. An appointment, W-T-F? $30-$40, double WTF. So I guess true barber shops have gone by the wayside. I'm gonna miss that place.

So now, more than ever, RDP is my hangout.

My wife gets it as this site is a wealth of info and has helped us on numerous occasions. But she does joke that we are all nerds having to introduce ourselves by screen names first when meeting in person.....

There was an old timer Mexican barber in Parker that used to love going to when I lived there about 12yrs ago, dont know if he's still there. He didn't speak a lick of english but $10 got you a haircut and he did your edges with a straight razor. I always gave him $20

Starting with H*tBoat.com and obviously a bit later ending up here. My wife used to hate it that I was online. Then she met the people I know from here. What started online finally ended up with meeting at the river or Havasu. They turned out to be some of the coolest people I know and best friends I have.

How do you guys know each other?

Uh..from the internet.

LOL

I can so relate to this...

Me and my buds all went to the same barber for YEARS. So even when we drifted apart a bit as we got older, when we went to see Fernando for a hair cut, we caught up through him. There was no RDP or social media back then.

Then he passed away from diabetes. We were all at the funeral, cried and laughed and talked about the old days. I still miss that guy terribly!

Men need a place to hang out and talk shit. To commiserate and to laugh. Seems like this place (especially during this fucked up year) has become that for a lot of us here.

Cheers bitches!

It’s an online “bar”.
Been on HB and here since 02’. I’ve argued, f’ed with plenty of Aholes on the boards. Pretty much none of the Aholes (my decision) are left 18 years later.
No one can deny the mix of backgrounds , professions. Life experiences of members here can be found anywhere else.
There is little I couldn’t ask about tech wise from a coffee maker to a home generator that I couldn’t get a full answer to, or a link, go to person to contact for said subject.
All three wives have asked question the OP posted. All three were the recipients of a good product or service I found / was referred to from here.
Reading this site in bed? Nah, that’s the work bench, lol.
Posting from the porcelain throne? Much more likely, lol!

You know the old saying, "No matter how hot they are, somebodies tired of listening to their shit"... oops, see someone beat me to that. Great site Dave... only one I'm on.... great Covid Relief Package with all this time on my hands. I'd enjoy knowing what is currently the best response you've come up with for dealing with those upset gals at DS?

I get that often too, asking why I watch these boards. But then again, my wife is a social retard, so she just wouldn't understand. :)
