I’m wide-open Saturday, December 3 before it gets in the holiday time and people really get busy with families. There’s a Facebook car club it’s really active here in Las Vegas lotta Filipinos those guys drive everything known a man from Lamborghinis down to very very tricked out 370z’s. Very cool dudes! Wifey is hooked to them.

I hit up RD about having an RD sponsored Christmas like “toys for tots” car show the first weekend in December. Like on a Saturday and your entry fee is one unwrapped toy of let’s say a minimum value of 15 or $20

get some businesses to donate some product or item and have an auction also pick a charity in Havasu. I could probably work out driving the Lamborghini down and might even get a few more people with exotic cars in Las Vegas to drive down to let’s play it by ear.

I’d be in for that!

FYI Cars ‘N Copters is in HB tomorrow. Usually a really cool show. I’ll be taking pops if I can find some Handicap parking and visiting some friends while we are down here. Good timing on our trip.

One of my friends will be at the cars in copters they have them coming up in November call cars and jets probably gonna be a Los Alamitos waiting to hear on that.

To me it seems Havasu has quite few cars shows and gatherings..
Rods and Relics / Run to the Sun (3 day event)
Havasu Deuce Show
Havasu 95 Speedway Car Show
Rods at Riverbound Custom Storage (surprisingly a pretty good show and turnout)
Havasu Rockabilly Reunion (says 800+ vehicles on display)
Lake Havasu Cruisin on Main (every Thursday I think it is)

I'm probably missing a couple others but these are the ones I've been to and liked. Kingman also has a couple good ones.

One thing that really surprised me about Havasu is all the hot rods and quality custom stuff you see here .... they're not only in peoples garages but I see them out on the street daily. Lot of well off retired guys here! .. They may not get the numbers that some of the bigger shows in So Cal get but you can still see some top shelf quality cars.
I grew up in So Cal and currently live there (part time now) so I still try to get out to the car shows there when I can .... always a great way to spend the day!

San Clemente had a nice one yesterday. I saw some real high quality American muscle. They also had a good variety of other stuff. A nice row of VWs, some surf woodies, an old truck section, some military hardware etc. good variety.

GNRS is coming up at beginning of the month. This is top notch high caliber show that runs February 3-5. It covers everything prewar up to 70’s. Clean weekend Drivers are typically displayed outside the auditoriums. I will try to grab a select few pics. Hope to see a few RDP hats in the crowd.

I was staying Laughlin this past weekend for the Dave Kops tournament of champions softball tournament in Bullhead with my Granddaughters high school (Torrance High) team staying at the Riverside where they were having the “ Hot Rod & Harley Show “ I was able to walk though and get some pictures.

Yeah, it's a shame. My buddy says the owners daughter took it over and has struggled to get quality knowledgeable employees and is just over it. I'll try to talk to her tomorrow.

And getting parts is next to impossible! No inventory, bread and butter parts on back order. And finding knowledgeable parts people is next to impossible. Muscle cars are either total junk or restored and priced out of reach for many people.

Can i ask why....KINDA BUGS ME........ flyers at these car shows say CLASSIC HOT ROD show yet 1/2 the cars are new corvettes cameros and dodge chargers
CMon i can see those everyday on the street what a waste of parking spaces my 2 cents.....to me thats like a CLASSIC V-DRIVE regatta and 18ft jets boats show up LOL

Unfortunately a lot of the hot rod owners are dying and it's getting harder to fill the shows. A few years ago we started raising the years of eligibility, but recently added a new performance category, but usually only get a few.

I saw you cruising the Chevelle. I’m glad you get to enjoy the show as well as make the video.

This was a pretty big show. I don’t think they’ve ever closed off the streets as far as they did.

The overwhelming majority of shows I attend are pre 75 only. No newer cars in the video I just posted. The newer cars have plenty of their own events to choose from.

Getting harder to fill the shows? I will agree that we’re losing out old timers but the shows in SoCal are still thriving. We have Riverside Show N’ Go in 2 weeks with well over 1000 cars hosted by the Old Farts Racing Team car club.

The Quarantine cruise is another good example of thriving participation and a younger crowd of older classic cars.

Yeah, that was the first time they've opened up upper Central since I’ve been going.

I am still confused on how car participant pays $40.entry fee, I have to fuel this thing up and get it there sit there for hours listening to stupid comments ....My car
has no class to even enter. I pay the entry fee no prob if it is a good cause .
