Pacific palisades project. bad ass beach bungalow up in the hills for a well known movie producer.
the coping at nearly 5in thick, tile on floors and walls is all custom made limestone specific for this job. pics don’t do it justice
hydrazzo polished like glass pool finish. Hidden safety cover under coping.
a lot going on for what appears to be a normal pool

I'm getting ready to re-do my yard after ripping it out last weekend. I'm a little higher in elevation so I'm going to try something out of the ordinary for so cal landscaping and use more of a highland/mountain colors and plants.

Does anyone know the actual name of these damn trees. I can't for the life of me figure out either the scientific or common names for them:

@Melloyellovector do you just do the construction or do you do the design as well? My MIL got a full 3D render before they started digging last week, and it really helps with visualization.

We do full design. But we no longer do for free. Otherwise I’d need 5 full time guys just to spin their wheels for price and idea shoppers

Wow this is amazing! Might be a dumb question but how do you do the drainage when using natural stone or tile? Seems like it'd be a difficult job for the setters to pull off all those sloping angles without creating lippage everywhere.

Skill, lol
basically same concept as concrete deck. Figure out break points, riser locations etc
stone easy really forgiving. Large pavers are a lot of careful planning

That Redlands house looks great, but the homeowner needs to look at our (4K) extruded aluminum patio material, not Alumawood rain gutter thick painted material. In a BBQ island like that, the more modern look would fit well.

The counter tops look great, are they poured in place concrete? I don't see any joints in them, how does that hold up with inland valley temp swings?

Beautiful pool by the way, I love these threads.

This is my bosses pool. He looked at your product when I showed it to him before the build. He went with the real wood patio cover instead.

I’ll be in touch w you guys for my havasu house. Want to do a 2 post cantilever cover over my baja from the raised bond beam hillside

No joints, no issues Iv seen yet, have some that are 10 years old range. Just re seal depending on age, sealer holds up better under a covers
Very nice and very similar to what I want to do for the new pad. We talking $200k?
In that range, this one is more because of the high end finishes. Custom made glass tile in pool, porcelain paver deck, hidden drains, glass pebble in pool, commercial size and quality pots the list goes on.
@Melloyellovector Hey Timmy! Where the updated pix on your Havasu Pool??
Waiting for ca guys to have time to shoot them, pretty sad that havasu guys charge more then I can send guys from ca w fees to do.

Bradbury project, this things a monster residential, 75x35 pool 24ft spa. We started this project nearly 8 years ago for a GC that got burned during the project so we bounced. You can see in background the framed structures that are hammered and being rebuilt. Pool sat thru shotcrete for over 7 years empty.
original designer came to me asking if we could help. Customer had NDAs in place for no pics or saying who they are etc, but it only covered construction dates from orig contract not current revised so I snuck a few to share. Pics don’t do the size justice. Also the deep end is on the house side entire length 8ft deep end to end, shallow is spa side entire length.

update on my havasu pool, walls are in, sides, rear, front etc. They will all be covered in smooth stucco or stone so ignore the mis matched block, lol
the white specks on pool coping camera doesn’t pic up whats going on there, that’s abalone shell in the concrete and makes for a hell of a bling show in any light or sun hitting it.
big ass firepit and bench in back right corner, bbq near house will have abalone and blue glass in finish and polished.
still debating tiles, likely large format 12x24 entire spa walls inside and out. Spa is rim flow so water will flow all sides. 1x1 glass tile for waterline, stone or possibly brick on rear walls. Was planning on doing entire baja and maybe entire pool in the small glass tiles until I got my homie price and felt like I was on rodeo getting retail costs, lol. so to be determined. Style will all be modern semi classic and clean. Garage i plan on raising to rv height and extend back 15ft, and add counter to patio side wall with glass garage door above counter to make it indoor outdoor multi function bar counter.

Dude, your havasu pool is coming out bad ass!! Love the design and layout. Perfect! Corners and different angles gives it a lot of character. Love the bar and the little chill corner seating in the shade. AWESOME.

Now, lets talk about the other one getting finished. ;)😁😁

Out of curiousity ....What is the reason the equipment is at this location vs tucked away somewhere?
It’s where GC wanted it. Sides of main house no room. Rear of main house is main entertainment area and noise would carry to main house and ADU.
I wanted to put it behind the ADU. But the owner wanted to keep the ADU backyard clear in case of renter, and limited access for service etc
They added fencing around it after we were done to screen it. Its odd. But ill build how ever they want. Equipment location looks perfect from my house. Lol

Rosena ranch spool project mini backyard lives matter. This backyard originally had about 10ft from house to bottom of hillside. Very little usable space. Now little backyard paradise for small parties

Another mini backyard project in mission viejo. Literally 12ft deep backyard from house to wall. Owner moved from other house w pool and spa. Retired OC FF. Had to have something for grandkids to dunk in. The lake is literally couple streets below them. So they use that often for paddle boarding etc.
BBQ on other side of yard he was building himself in phase 2.
decent little set up for really not much of a yard

Any updates? Any other depth-challenged back yards? We've got a ton of room on the side, but the wife is pushing for something off the back of the house so we can see it from the living room and bedroom.
