It does seem rather odd, his parents have spoken out, but not her. It may be as he instructed, to attempt to keep them safe. I don't know. The father said he was under a gag order, and spoke again anyway, and that's why he was taken to the brig.

Now it makes sense why he was relieved of command, and not also discharged. The military courts I hear have different rules than civilian.

I've had some time to ponder all of this. While I still 100% agree with what he said, he was a bit of an idiot for doing so. I can guarantee, he will be found guilty in a courts martial, it just remains to be seen how hard they punish him.
