That's pretty cool. I want to know what the copper colored camshaft looking thing is on the left. Appears to have something to do with speed control.

I watched that myself and believe it to be a camshaft that triggers solenoid firing via micro switches at the end of those wire 'fingers' that are following the camshaft lobes.....

I dunno...just my guess...

I think the cam is made of copper and the wires that touch the cam lobs are copper so that appears to be the timing. It appears to be a sort of cam/distributor.
