Live and learn. I should have known better than to hire a contractor I haven’t worked with before. A one month project is going to turn into three. So here we are waiting for the decks.

I've always had a Hayward Navigator in it and it seemed to work well. Although I do brush the entire pool once a week or so. That's how my plaster looked so good after 20 years.Question for you @GRADS; That is a very odd shaped pool now. How do you plan on cleaning the bottom? May sound silly, but I have a huge problem with a plain jane kidney bean shaped pool finding a good sweeper. I can only imagine with all those angles it's going to be tough without having to manually vacuum the pool weekly.
A little update...Still have A LOT to do and it's taking a hell of a lot longer than I thought it would.

No shit! I've told my wife no less than 10 times I was glad I quit the pool biz. I can't even imagine being a contractor right now with the shortage on...everything.Sounds like construction! Lol
Looking good so far
Lol . Not a chance . Next time i will buy a house with a pool already done !Lesson learned. Next time I will just rip out a 40 year old pool and start over....it would have been cheaper.
Explain what?Esplain please...
How did it go so sideways?Explain what?
I found a lot of gunite that was either failing or was super thin. Walked around the pool with a sledge hammer and half the pool sounded hollow. It's solid now.How did it go so sideways?
Yes they are. That looks great. Are the lounges removable?
Fixed it I think. Can’t see it.
Looks awesome Greg, good luck next weekSo here we are today. The pool has had water in it for awhile and I am trying to put the final touches on it. Still need to stain/seal the deck, face the gunite wall with something and then landscape. As I said in my very first post this is something I wanted to do for my wife in case something happened to me. I also did it to try and take my mind off my health.
At this point the rest of it is going to have to wait. The doctors at Stanford have said it is time to act. My stent in my carotid artery has all but closed. Next week they are going to cut open my neck and attempt to remove the stent and artery and replace it with an artificial one. The surgery is high in risks and not many doctors will attempt it, but I've got to have faith that I have one of the best vascular surgeons in the country.
I figure my wife can get the pool across the finish line at this point if god forbid something happens to me.
Here's a few pics

I actually did not need to replace the equipment. I've got mostly Hayward and Pentair stuff.New setup looks killer congrats!
What equipment did you go with?
Dave

Actually that's a great idea that quite frankly hadn't crossed my mind. Our fence is really ugly and I was trying to figure out how to conceal it with plants but I really like how yours looks.Bad ass color. Super nice. You should think about staining your fence. The wife and daughter pressure washed our ugly weathered fence and it made it almost white then rented a sprayer at Home Depot and stained it while I was out of town on a golf trip. Surprised me with it. I love it. Here is a video she showed me of my daughter. It was done like 5 years ago and still looks great
