Quick run through Nordic / Hallett. They brought a new 255 and the new 275. The 28SS in the booth was bad ass!

Mike Smith bought a new 29 with a 600 to match his 43!

This is a new passive particle separator. In short it’s a prefileter for you offroad car that keeps the air filter cleaner for entire seasons. This one is passive (no fan) so it doesn’t sound like a turbine next to your head.

I actually sat and checked out that defender for quite a while. I've all but given up on a side by side, unless i really want to just cut the hell out of a 4 seater to make it in to a 2 seater. But that defender was pretty roomy, not as "cool" looking and obviously not as fast, but could fit the bill. I couldn't find the owner to find out more but it looked fairly stock other than maybe the wheels and stereo. I'm doing more research on them myself

Hi @GRADS , I still make boards if you are ever down in so cal again or up for the cost of shipping up North. Booners looks like they make a quality product, I have not yet seen in person though. Anyway, I know you like the 49ers from another comment, here is my 49ers design that gets a lot of attention, but I can do whatever you like. One of my sets is in this thread in the Hitchworks booth.

Gallery: The best off-road and watersports toys from the Sand & Water Expo

Sand and water: there's plenty of both at Lake Havasu, Arizona, making it a bit of a mecca for high-octane vehicles built to tear across both the desert and the lake. Here are our photo highlights from the Southwest's biggest motorsports and outdoor recreation expo.

We've already covered the substantial RV portion of the expo; now it's time for the toys. This year's Sand & Water Expo turned on a bit of a smorgasbord for lovers of side-by-side off-roading, luxury speedboats, fishing kayaks and paddleboarding.

Can Am brought its entire range of side-by-sides, including the 2019 Maverick XC X RC (below), which ups the ante with some rockcrawling capability to further improve on the Maverick's go-anywhere capabilities.

American Fastbacks specializes in making hard tops for Jeep JK and TJ/LJ models, and it brought a range of tricked-out Jeeps to the expo. This is their Badlands model, equipped with a stove top, a fridge, and an electric hard top camper with the ability to sleep four.

Hobie's range of sit down/stand up fishing and adventure kayaks are always popular, with their innovative bidirectional Mirage drive pedal paddles and generous amounts of storage and facilities.

Nordic brought along its 28 SS, a 28-ft (8.5-m) carbon/Kevlar monster speedboat that it claims ranks as the fastest catamaran in North America. This US$235,000 beast packs twin 400-hp outboards for a top speed around 130 mph (210 km/h) across the water. Not for the faint of heart.

The undisputed king of the party wake boats this year has to be the Malibu MXZ. Nothing tells the story quite like these two numbers: 22 cup holders, 12 speakers plus subwoofer.

There are plenty more pics in the gallery, so click through for a full tour of the off-road and on-water vehicles at this year's Sand & Water Expo.

Just a heads up on the KWT particle separator before anyone wastes their money.
Found this info on another site and thought I would put it up here:

I purchased a KWT Separator while at Camp RZR as I too thought their claims were "interesting". We tested it against the S&B Particle Separator. I will let the test results speak for themselves. We are only interested in publishing facts and have included test details and pictures. We have spent close to a million dollars on our climate control lab, and it is one of the best in the country. In our lab, we test to the ISO 5011 Filtration Test Standard and use ISO Test Dust. I also sent these results over to KWT and gave them over a week to respond in case we made any errors. I got no response. Please let me know if you have any questions. - Berry

https://drive.google.com/file/d/103Q...QF8hRi1N9/view
KWT Customer. Not start a pissing match between Solid companies. Let me just say in my riding group we have both filter companies and with my own experience I can't get into the science of who seperated the smallest particle and who's filter was cleaner at the end of the ride.

But I can say is the KWT Works very well. 3 things that made myself a lifetime customer.

#1 Their Customer service is OUTSTANDING.
"THEY TAKE CARE OF THE VETS" <Thank You>
<Didn't get The whole S&B Retialer protection B.S>

#2 S&B is a bit of a install even for a mechcanical guy and that fan isn extremely annoying my com will pick it up even with it adjusted correctly most times."PERSONAL OPPINION" 'KWT took 15 mins'

#3 I can put a garden hose to my KWT when its full of mud. "Unlike S&B"
"Pictures to show what I mean"

Pictures after the mud represent one 1.5 hour ride in a dust bowl of silt and sand and just plain heavy dust. 2 Riders out with us.

You can see for your self how much was collected and sorry for the quality of the photos .

< Dirt on the tire is about 1 tablespoon of dirt about 2 more came out of the filter body itself.
I couldn't get a good shot of me tapping the filter to show that.>

As a consumer buy who you like. But remember beyond buying a product your buying the company. I would say in my experience KWT has always treated me better than family. So thank you for that!

'Berry on a personal note beyond S&B and KWT.
It's discouraging to see a owner of a reputable company bashing another company. Competition is good for the market place and consumer! They have a different idea and design than you thats what makes us all step up our game!!!

Also you lab stats or science can be scewed by any mulitple variables in ones. Have you ever watched to shopping network and their graphs.

All I am saying is be supportive of competition and rise to the challenge don't call out people on a form!!!!

I got no dog in this hunt - not even a SXS owner. So if I understand it correctly, 185EZ is Berry and he's the owner of S&B Particle Separator?

Looks like a big company going after a competitor that is likely much smaller. Not a good look to do this. And calling them out expecting a response - that's ludicrous and you know it - no smart company is going to respond directly to you and argue your lab's claims especially since you're going after them publicly.

Want to do it right? Get an independent lab to test your products and others'. Otherwise who can believe your lab's tests are unbiased?

I'd like to see how you "spent close to a million dollars on (your) climate control lab." That's a ton of dough for such a "lab" - I'd like to see how you can stand behind that claim - I can only guess you're including the cost of your building and the land it sits on.

I'm no air filtration expert but your tests, if they are accurate, seem to justify keeping the stock unit instead of spending bucks on your "turbine" which was RD's description.

By the way, if you don't like RD's use of the word "turbine" (I'm betting that's what set you off) you should call him out but you are smart enough not to bite the hand that feeds you.

What do these thing do to help the SxS anyways? Clean the air before the actual air filter or clean the fresh air that goes to the belt housing?
When i asked the dealer if i should buy one during my x3 purchase they said no. Not worth the money

Its a pre filter to filter out the fine sediment that causes dirt ingestion in most SXS. By most standards you'll average about 10-15 hours of use time before you should replace your stock filter.
With a Particle Seperator you will average about 60-80 hours. Air filters are the number 1 thing that needs be maitanied on any SXS by any manufacturer. That was a very un educated and biased opinion by your sales person. He should really educate him self more. There is a reason every raxe team in america runs a seperator.

You can do the math.

62.00 for a stock filter replacement. 5x a year
310.00 a year would be your average cost.

Particle seperators range about 399.00 a piece and require little to no up keep.

With most people it pays for its self in 1-2 years.

Its a protection piece to protect your investment.

Not trying to sound snarky. I just hated un educated sales people. They of all people should be educated on what they sell!!!!

Well there my answer. Fyi, the guy is actually not uneducated.
Cant you take to stock filter out and give it a quick clean and get a few more hours out of it?
Can you put a better washable brand instead of the stock one?

I dunno. $400 just seems like a lot.
But i dont know much, which is why i asked

Yes you can take a knock it out or take a air compressor and blow it out lightly but in most cases you cause damage to the filter and in turn it a lot bigger are particles through and into the intake of the motor..

When you break it down in the grand scheme of things when you spend $30k what's 400.00 especially when it filters out more dirt than the stock setup on your machine.

The best way I can put it. It's like having a home security system for your house. You don't realize its value until it saves you from disaster

What about the tried and true filter set-up that dirt bikes have ran for decades? A treated foam filter? A UNI double stage filter has worked amazing in the dozens of dirt bikes that have ran through my family through the years.

185EZ doesn’t work for SWB though and isn’t a sales person for them either.

I understand your point of view but you are also throwing some accusations that aren’t founded or accurate.

He’s just a member that found that test on another site as he said.

What about the tried and true filter set-up that dirt bikes have ran for decades? A treated foam filter? A UNI double stage filter has worked amazing in the dozens of dirt bikes that have ran through my family through the years.

Fine dirt will get through a foam air filter, but they breathe better.

I have been running the stock RZR Donaldson filter with foam vacuum prefilters on it, lightly sprayed down with filter oil. Decent results so far.

Huh..... The impeccably clean intake track on all our dirt bikes says otherwise. A good filter with good and sticky oil has kept our intakes clean for decades. I'll take a UNI with some Maxima FFT oil on it any day of the week. Carry 1 or 2 extras pre-oiled and ready to go in a ziplock in your RV and you're good for an entire weekend for less than $100

I personally never accused him of working for S&B in any capacity.

On the bottom of the thread I wrote it was aimed at Barry the owner of S&B. Not the gentleman who reposted it. His information shows he is from Lake Havasu.

But he has made some pretty heavy accusations that KWT is a waste of money and that is clearly not true! Hey has every right to believe S&B is better. But he should trash the competitor to do it.

And as for accusations I was wrong to say that the sales guy was uneducated in a thread after when responding to another person great questions about particle separators. But what I can say is most educated people in this field understand that a particle separator is a protection of an investment. But we all have our rights to a opinion.

There is a reason they are not used on off road cars. One of 2 things happens.. not enough oil and they suck dirt, or enough oil and they quickly look like a potato and become a restriction.

The reason is that these are larger displacement engines and are moving far more air through the filter than a dirt bike.

As a consequence efficient filtering capacity with a foam filter is drastically shortened unless you go to a larger filter.

Price out a replacement engine. $400 is cheap insurance.

I'm not Berry
I also didn't call anyone out
Just providing info i found out on the KWT filter.
To make such accusations against me are more ludricous than what i provided to help people make an educated decision before spending the same money for a proven product like S&B.
If you're no dog in the hunt and don't even own a SXS and no filtration expert then I don't even see a reason for you posting

Read the rest of the responses before making a judgement.. It's already been addressed.
