NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken are scheduled to lift off from pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center at 3:22 p.m. ET.

They will travel to the International Space Station aboard SpaceX's Dragon capsule. The bell-shaped capsule resembles the spacecraft of the Apollo-era, but its sleek interior sports oversized touchscreen controls. The capsule will be carried to orbit atop the company's Falcon 9 rocket, which has been used successfully dozens of times to put satellites and space-station cargo into orbit.

Why is this not on TV? Kind of a historic event .

It was on Fox News Channel live during the week. I assume it'll be on today unless something else preempts it (like Minneapolis burning or Nancy Pelosi's death, etc.). NASA TV channel runs it live too if you have that channel

Is that the same engine that blew up yesterday in a pressure test in TX?

edit - it looks like it was an engine from the Mars rocket - I wonder how different they are?

they are also doing destructive test on that rocket not the falcon 9. I don't know if that is what was happening yesterday or not but will check into it later.

Possibly I missed it but I don’t think it was deliberate??? If that is what a destructive test would be??

Thanks for the reminder. 👍

They’re chasing down the space station now.
Boosters are reentering atmosphere and doing entry burns.

Settled in at 27,000 KPH

It’s amazing how sanitary the capsule is. There is visibly almost no clutter of controls as compared to Apollo capsules or even shuttle flights deck.

Second stage away. This shit is bad ass to the bone.
Say what you will about Musk, but the guy is a visionary like few others.
This is a MAJOR, MAJOR milestone in human history.
Elon made it look easy.

Great comedy!

Musk deserves to be thumping his chest today. To state you will send manned missions back into space is one thing, but think of all the steps, successes and failures, it took to get here. And developing the technology of recovering/reusing the rockets. Pretty amazing.

Free money helps.

Elon is just smart enough to hire people that are smarter than him.

I’ve talked a lot a smack about him and his subsidies, but I have to tip my hat today to him and his crew.
