Does anyone have a smoked windshield they want to sell or know where one could be had (relatively inexpensive)? Mine is cracked in one spot and cloudy from the canvas beating it to death.:headscratch:

My buddy has one. Im not sure what color it is but you can tint it. If memory serves me correct though, i think its a light reddish color.

Im not sure, but I think the windshields are the same on the 24' and the 20'. I have the 24'. Ask him what he wants for it and what tint color it is. I would definitely rather have the smoked color but if I got a great deal on another color I might go with it.

I have one. It is in average shape with one small crack on one hole. It is not smoked grey but you can do the tint thing. Also have the mounts some are broken. $50 takes it!

I know this is a real old thread but I just happen to need a windshield for my 1978 Spectra 24 SX. You wouldn't happen to still have this? If so please e-mail me [email protected]. Best Regards

If anyone is in need of a new reverse deflector OEM type windshield, I just had one made by Airplane Plastics in Dayton, Ohio. I took my old broken shield to them and they made a form off of it. Mine was off of a 1978 24.5' XS. I do believe that all the windshields for the 20' and the 24' hulls are the same. Probably will fit the Howard hulls also. If you are interested you can contact Jeff Rogers. They are located at 9785 Julie Ct., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. 937-669-2677, Cell- 937-232-1410 or [email protected]. They have a web sight also www.airplaneplastics.com
The shield they did for me is not drilled. You can drill your own for that perfect fit to your particular boat. They prefer to have the boat if they are to drill the shield, since all boats were not drilled exactly the same when manufactured. They did a beautiful job, polished the top edges and the fit is perfect.

If you send your old one to imaginative materials and design in Tucson he will build you a new one.

Did you have IMCO make them?
If so, what did you pay to have them made?
Did they make direct copy of the fiberglass tanks?
Thank You,

Brent

Brent,

Yes, I had them made by IMCO in August of 2008 so the price I paid then isn't too relatable to todays replacement cost. The tanks are 33 gallons each which is about 2 feet shorter than the original and larger fiberglass tanks they replaced. I am a small lake boater. ;)

As they are still in excellent condition I am transferring them from my old 1974 Spectra 24XS to my new 1986 Sanger 24XS. They fit like a glove.

Aloha

I believe the windshield brackets are still in Taylor's catalogue. I don't have the part number, but purchased some at West Marine a few years back.
