Welcome everyone to this thread. I think you will find it interesting. Stellar Boatworks is located in Stuart Florida. For those of you who don't know Stuart is a mecca for boat building. There are many custom boat builders here that are some of the finest in the world. I've built many boats and specialize in resin infusion. I've done this for over 15 years and have infused hulls up to 60ft. I'm considered an expert in my field.

A friend who raced cats talked me into building this boat. The hull is taken from a George Linder designed Chris Cat 30. It was designed to run in rough seas offshore racing. Go to "Chris cat American Express" on you tube to see how it performs. I was impressed. After consulting with George Linder I wanted to update the hull. It was a narrow beam by todays standards 8' 6" with a 48 inch true tunnel. So I cut it half down the middle and widened it 12 inches. To accommodate the outboards I added 12 inches. I do all my own tooling and did all of this myself. I've updated the deck to a more modern look. I'm starting the hull mold this month. I'm offering the first 3 boats at a very competitive price. I may also offer a hull and deck.

The boat will be completely infused cored hull and deck. Built with vinylestor resins. Length 33ft. Beam 10' 6". 60" tunnel. Fuel Capacity 200 gallons. Weight under 6,000 lbs. Seating 6. Engines Mercury 300hp, 400hp, 450hp.

Here's what it will look like and how I did it

Next I cut it down the middle and moved one side 12 inches on the base to keep it straight and level. The jig was cut down the middle. There was a lot of prep work prior to the cut. I had already determined to have a 6inch overlap on the core when I reglassed it. So I cut the the inner glass and core back 6 inches on each side leaving the outer glass in tack. There was a lot of grinding involved. I did all this myself with no help. I knew I had to have a base to glass it back to. I cut a slot in the jig prior to insert melamine into the jig and fit securely to the hull bottom. I shot the center with a laser to line it up straight. I then glassed it back together with the 6 inch overlap. I also used and 18oz carbon for added strength. next was the core and then more glass

After flipping it I needed to finish the hull and make a few more changes. I had to add to the transom for the outboards and modernize the steps. I wanted an 18 inch setback from the transom for cleaner water. George Linder advised me to add 12 inches and a 6 inch jack plate. So I took his advice. This also lengthened the tunnel 12 inches. Everything here is hand built. No drawings on anything was

The deck is looking awesome. As I think you realize I'm very anal and demand attention to detail. The finish work is outstanding. I'll be posting the photos of that soon. After I build the hull mold and a hull, I'll fit the cap to the new hull for a perfect fit before I build the mold. I have to widen the deck a foot also. The hatch profiles are near perfect along with the hatches. They are big enough to easily get into the bilge.
The Chris Cat originally had a cabin where you could sleep on the boat. There is also ample room for a head. both will be an option on the boat. I have started a facebook page under Stellar Boatworks. I will be posting there as well.
If you have any questions whatsoever I'd be more than happy to answer them. If interested about infusion I posted on Offshore Only a complete explanation with photos of how its done a few years ago. If you have a technical question about fiberglass I'm more than happy to help. Thank you for your interest.
