Looking for some education. Pops DiMarco has a 1979 DiMarco with a Sternpower outdrive (same style drive as in the picture). I am looking for information regarding props and size of the propshaft and if this sternpower drive shares the same dimension shaft/splines as a Speedmaster.
Any information is appreciated. We have 3 or 4 props like the one in the pictures and am trying to find out more info regarding the stampings as well.
Again, thanks for any information.

I’m sure stern power drives use same prop spline as 19 spline Arneson and ssm3 drive whether they be 4” or 6” hub

I have pair (L&R) 3 blade bronze 16.5”x22” if your interested

I’ll snap a pic tomorrow. I forgot to do it while I was over there.
I know that’s it’s tapered.

Yep. The hubs look identical to what you have. Only difference is that all of ours are cleaver style props. Thanks for the information and pictures. [emoji1360][emoji1360][emoji1360]

Yes they all the same I have bunch of the Arneson 19 spline props here it looks like a burial ground only difference had a tidy up and went through to see what I had

I pulled the Arneson from transom as cleaning up last fibreglassing before paint
So measure the largest part of shaft where oil seal is as this is largest part of taper on back of prop and took a pic for you
Good luck

Very cool. Thanks for that information. It’s exactly the kind of info I was looking for on the forum. I’ll measure it up next time at Pops house. [emoji1360]

You got any small shaft SSM #3 props. I would like another pair as I currently have 3 blade 28s.

I’ll dig thru my pics and see if I can find some The drive is pretty deep. It’s on a 21’ DiMarco daycruiser...

Not looking to change it up. It’s got a big round ear prop on it now. Mild 454 with maybe 450 hp. We have at least 4 of those cleaver props of varying sizes in the garage. The round ear prop works way better with the smaller HP. It’s had all kinds of engines in it....blown, twin turbo and now a mild N/A BBC. I haven’t found any pictures of the drive yet but I’m still looking.

Who do you source parts from for these drives? I gotta replace the bellows minimally this winter.
Thanks!

My dad built this Centurion at the Dimarco shop. Ralph was recommending the stern power over the mercruiser back then Saying it was the same as a speed master 3. Your Dimarco and this boat were built at the same time Right next to each other. had a twin turbo BBC in it with about 600hp And a turbo 400 trans. Had to put the steering rams on it later after we found out it would turn violently to the left at speed on it own. Our props were all cleavers. When we sold the boat in 1983 the guy used it once and then it got stolen. He got it back without the engine and trans. It’s been sitting ever since.

I keep thinking about buying it, it pops up for sale every so often. I looked at it about 20 years ago and the interior was still there, now it needs stringers along with interior. Somebody is selling it on Facebook marketplace for $3000

I like it. It has some soul to it. And that drive is built like a tank. It’s had it all in it at one time or another. Blown, nitrous and twin turbos at one point. [emoji1360]

You mean this white and burgundy one? been a work in progress its on its 2nd motor- 509ci with a little 177 and intercooler. The sternpowr has been trouble free, changed the fluid in it when i bought the boat and hasnt had an issue. My pops had a machinist friend cut a mercury hub so it can take standard mercury prop now. the Hub is permemeantly mounted to the splines and we just slide the prop off and on. havent run it yet all out with new engine and prop combo. but should be good for 70-75mph. Behind the sternpowr is a velvet drive, been super reliable as well.
