So when was the last time there was a Dairy Queen in Bullhead City? I remember going to a Dairy Queen when I was a kid.

Looks like it's going to be just up the street from where it originally was located when I was a kid.

you sound like somebody stole your 100k boat here

Haha. Wish I had a 100k boat. I’m not talking shit. I mainly boat in Bullhead. I have been there enough to see the ingenuity and uniqueness of some of the locals there. That said, this thread was probably created to capture those priceless moments.

Every city has them. Some more than others. Bullhead being one of the more than others.
I grew up at the beach in Venice and Santa Monica and both have as many or more, then and now.

I know this won't be exactly what this thread is for but every now and then, the last time being a few years ago, I do a search for the old Wagon Wheel trailer park. I guess it's in what's now old Bullhead. My parents put a little trailer in there when the park was brand new, moving it over from the the old Sportsman park. We were there from '61 to '71. Last time I looked there had been a big drug raid in Wagon Wheel and the pics showed yellow tape everywhere. Well this time made me wish I hadn't even looked. I know everything changes and I haven't even been to Bullhead since my grandma died in '79, but it was our little slice of heaven. There was no Laughlin yet, and no one really went to Bullhead because of the cold water. Just miles of flat water. We use to catch trout off the dock for dinner.
Our old home movies show our flat bottom being the only boat on the water, even on the big weekends.

We're pretty much only on the strip now, but thanks for the offer.

I've posted this many times before, me and my parents on the beach that would later be Laughlin, Bullhead across the river. 1961. I'd give anything to have that boat today.

Little Bullhead trivia. In the picture I got from google earth that shows the old trailer park from above, 2 lots up river you can just see a swimming pool. Back then the pool was there, or at least there was a pool there which may have been redone over the last 55 years, and just a big house. Nothing else on the property all the way back to Moser St. They guy that owned it was the guy who owned Denny's restaurants. He had a Chris Craft style of boat and was a pretty good water skier from what I remember.

I checked out Wagon Wheel Trailer Park on Google Earth Pro and it looks like they started removing the rest of the trailers off the lot sometime between 2015 and 2017. This shot is from March 2017.

Thanks for that pic. Our spot was the 3rd slab from the river, there was another slab close to the bluff, maybe it’s hidden by the trees. Across from the slabs is one running length wise to the park, that was the owners house, Bill and Ruth Houseberg.
Our trailer by the way had no bathroom so we used the restrooms/showers in that building in the middle of the park. Mostly us kids would just clean up in the river.
It’s so strange seeing these pics, really clashes with my memories. I wonder what’s going to be built there?

For ice cream after we head back into town after loading up the boat at the end of the day from Jack Smiths, we stop at Thriftys Ice cream store on Aztec right next door to the Safeway on the west side. They only sell ice cream and frozen yogurt. Nobody ever in there. I get the waffle cone and 3 scoops!

Pretty much straight across from Harrah's now. Thats was my buddies grand father, Harold Butler that owned that place...and Denny's...and Naugles.

That's right! Couldn't remember his name although we only knew him as Butler.

Thanks!

As many as i laugh at i also shake my head knowing they aren’t in bullhead. Like the Nissan on a dolly, that’s straight up Mexico ..... as you said authenticity, it’s starting to get as authentic as the food at Casa Serrano :p

I did tuff guy!
Head south for about 12 miles you’ll find a suburb area called Mohave Valley, that’s as close to “Straight Up Bullhead” area as it gets, about two miles this side of Am/Pm you can find a surrounding area that looks 100% identical to the background of the photo :confused:
