I would think Gary Kincaid if he has time or your not in a hurry. Maybe Barry @obnoxious00 too, he knows his way around tollerances n chit.

I bet I could rebuild one, but not something I have ever done. Gary may be able to do it, but I would just suggest sending it to one of the companies that build them. Just had one checked out at Littlefield a couple of months ago for an engine I just rebuilt.

I had mine redone at The Blower Shop. Glen was awesome. Had the whole thing repolished as well. They did a great job all the way around.

Jeff Gaynor now owns Moonyham blowers and is in Havasu. Was Supercharger supply until he purchased Moonyham blowers and relocated to Havasu. Give him a call and mention Mark 951-207-7038

Littlefield did an 8-71 for me 2 years ago and it was perfect. On schedule and at a great price.

By now I expected to post pictures and a positive story of my new Mooneyham 8-71 blower.
Instead I’ll share with you my story of frustration.

The short story is that on September 24, 2021 I placed my order with Jeff Gaynor of Mooneyham
blowers/Supercharger supply and was told it would be 6-8 week lead time. My CC was charged in full
and I shipped him my NOS Mooneyham rear bearing plate and vintage Mooneyham front cover as these
parts are no longer available. Eighteen weeks later after hearing every conceivable excuse, my blower
still was not shipped so I canceled the order. The CC charge was refunded, and my front cover was
returned, but my NOS Mooneyham rear bearing plate was not and when I asked him to refund the retail
value he will not.

Based on my interaction with him, I conclude Jeff outsources all of his production and has little or no
control over the processes. His organizational skills seem to be similarly lacking and at 10 weeks suggested
he was having trouble locating my order.

Unless you enjoy pain I’d recommend an alternate vendor.

For those who want to know in more detail how this deal played out here’s the blow by blow:

09/24/2021 Ordered an 8-71 from Jeff 951-674-0572 (Cell)

09/25/2021 Sent my front and rear M/M blower plates to Jeff for assembly 6-8 wks

09/27/2021 Confirmed via Tracking that they were delivered

11/15/2021 (8 weeks) Sent a text to Supercharger Supply at 951-674-0572. “Any news on a ship date
for my 8-71”. Response “Just coming back from anodize tomorrow. Update Thursday.”

11/26/2021 Sent text “Any news on the 871? Did the rotors make it back from anodizing? Steve” but got no response.

12/03/2021 Once again I sent text “Can you give me a ballpark ship date for the 8-71. Steve”

12/03/2021 (10 weeks) Jeff called but was barely aware of the details of my order. Said my paperwork
was up on the wall. Said he would bump the priority up. He has been busy on the phone and has not
had enough shop time.

12/29/2021 (13 Weeks) I sent text “I need a ship date for the 8-71. Steve”

12/29/2021 Jeff Gaynor called but I was not aware until 1/2/2022 He asked me to call him at 951-207-
7038.

01/03/2022 (14 Weeks) Called Jeff 951-674-0572. He said the rotors have not come back from
anodizing. The lady is jacking him around. He’s going to see her on Wednesday. Has another guy that
can get anodizing done in 10 days. He said he expects to ship by the 15th.

01/20/2022 (17 Weeks) Text to Jeff “ 8-71 shipped yet? ”

01/21/2022 My phone ended up in airplane mode yesterday at about 18:00 but I don’t think Jeff tried
to contact me anyway. I called him today at about 13:45 and he said the guys that assemble it have
been sick. He said he was going to go to California and do the machine work to strip it this weekend and
then they can just assemble it. He said it would ship next week. He is just about out of excuses. I need
to cancel if it’s not ready next week.

01/26/2022 (18 Weeks) Called Jeff and told him that if it doesn’t ship this week to cancel the order.

01/28/2022 Called Jeff twice today but he does not answer or call me back like he usually does. Mailbox
is full.

01/29/2022 learned that Jeff refunded the purchase price to my cc on 1/26/2022. That doesn’t account for my
rear plate and front cover valued at $500.

01/29/2022 sent a text to Jeff “Please send tracking information for the return of my rear plate and
front cover. Thanks, Steve”

01/31/2022 sent a text to Jeff “Don’t forget I need to get the rear plate and front cover returned.
Thanks, Steve”

02/01/2022 Called Jeff today but he does not answer or call me back like he usually does. Mailbox is
full.

02/02/2022 Called Jeff and he actually answered. He said he would return my front cover and send a
new replacement for the rear plate since it was already mated with the blower housing. Time will tell if
he actually does.

02/07/2022 The Front cover arrived today:
Sheri Bowers
1671 E Vista Dr.
Mohave Valley, Az 86440

02/08/2022 Sent a text to Jeff “ I got the front cover back yesterday. Thank you. If I understand
correctly you’re getting a replacement rear plate for me because mine was used on the 8-71.”

02/08/2022 received a test from Jeff “Yes”

02/22/2022 Sent this test to Jeff: “Find a replacement rear plate for me yet?”

02/22/2022 Got this response from Jeff:” I’m having them made” I responded: “ok thanks”

03/21/2022 Sent this test to Jeff: “Any word on the replacement rear plate. Steve” I got this response “I
will try for a eta today”. To that I responded “Thanks“.

04/19/2022 Sent this test to Jeff: “Any ETA on the replacement rear plate. Steve“
No response.

04/28/2022 Sent this test to Jeff: “Any news on the replacement rear plate. Steve”
No Response.

05/06/2022 Sent this test to Jeff: “I'd like to get squared away on this rear plate in my lifetime. Please let
me know how you see it. Steve“ No Response.

05/08/2022 Sent this text to Jeff: “It's time for you to show you have any integrity. Either send me the
replacement rear cover or a check for the retail value of the item. If I don't hear from you on this issue
then I will use social media and the internet forums to help others avoid the frustration with your
company that I have experienced over the last seven + months. Steve” Got this response: “I will refund
retail tomorrow.” To which I responded “Thanks”

05/20/2022 (8 Mo later) Sent this test to Jeff: “What happened to the refund check you were going to
send on the 9th. Steve” No Response.

I highly recommend Martin Superchargers in Simi Valley…. Jerry Martin was a long timer at the Blower Shop before they moved and has the machines to hone cases and mill strips etc…

This is a great thread and Dave should start a separate forum for this stuff , both good and bad . I too , lately have experienced more dodgy people in service industries the last 3 years that I have the last 50 years !

Ask the business for a tour of the shop and what they can and can’t do. If you go to a blower shop and they don’t have blowers completed and disassembled, rotors, bearings, nylon, Teflon and mills, lathes and other equipment for blower repair find a shop that does.

I ordered an 8-71 from Don Hampton several weeks ago. I'm expecting good things. Didn't even require a deposit.

You won’t have a problem with Don. If you don’t buy the blower someone else will!
