We attempted to put the boat in at buckskin with big waves flopping around and in the process the screws that hold the swimstep to the brackets tore loose on one side. We have all the parts but I'm looking for a shop that can do a proper strong repair to the teak rather than just "putting in bigger screws." I thought about through bolting it but then there would be recessed heads in the wood, blah blah and I dont really want to go that route. Either riverside or havasu/parker area would be preferred.

Can that lower piece of teak be removed from the rest of the step? If so, I'd probably consider routing out a relief in the backside of it and laying in a piece of 3/16" stainless with studs welded too it to drop the holes in the bracket, then use acorn nuts on the bottom.

Why don't you just remove that piece of teak where the screw holes are stripped and replace that piece? Refasten it to the step itself, then re-attach your swim step mount to the swim step, then bolt that sucker back on. It isn't hard and you're a talented guy, so no worries!!

If you have someone do it, through bolt it with countersink bolts.
