Ok guys I know we're all high level on the testerstrone. But looking for feedback from those that might be receiving treatment. There's multiple ways to supplement but some have side effects from my understanding. What's recommended by the masses?

Don’t do gels, and go for injections.

Start out with DHEA. It's a supplement that assists your body into producing and increasing testosterone naturally. And here's little hack for us seniors (I'll be 70 this month):

Ask your Dr. about Tadalafil (Cialis) 5 or 10 mg once a day. In addition to the obvious original benefit, at the lower dose it can also help testosterone levels by optimizing the testosterone-to-estrogen ratio, plus can lower PSA and help treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostrate). While the Dr. may have to get pre-authorized (if you use insurance) it only costs $25-$35 for a 90 days supply. (Check Goodrx.com). Mine, Express Scripts through TRICARE, required the pre-auth, but approved and filled it pronto.

As far as the effectiveness for the original purpose (at the lower doses) it seems to work just as well as Sildenafil (Viagra), without having to plan ahead, as it's prescribed as a daily dose, rather than "as needed". Kinda like the Coast Guard Motto - "Semper Paratus" (Always Ready).

Nevermind. I just read the link and got the answers. I've been on gel for 8 years, with limited results. She is recommending i see a hormone doc for a better, specialized treatment.
Thanks, I'm calling tomorrow!
I was on it too, 4 pumps a day. T went 400 from 200 then back down to high 2’s and couldn’t get back up. Now with weakly shots it’s 700-800.

I go to a men’s clinic and pay out of pocket, about 70 a week just for T.

I did injections for a couple of years. Loved it. The wife loved it even more. Finally said No Mas when my hair started thinning drastically. So that’s one side effect I can verify.

I was low 200’s and my insurance covers it. 150mg Cypionate injection every 2 weeks. Just did lab work again and I’m 780. 4 months ago I was around 1000 but doc said it would level out after a couple more months when I did labs again. Been on it for around 6 months. Feel a ton better, it’s for life though.

I have done the pellets dating back to 2015, switched to the injections about 4 years ago and like them much better. Very simple. I have used a few of harmone therapy places when I first started and would not go back to them now. I work with my same local doctor I would go to for anything.

My suggestion: Have your blood drawn to see where your numbers are as this a must of course.

There are several ways it can be measured, such as free testoerone or total. I go with total. I had one hormone place who wanted to take me all the way up to 1800 which would have some amazng results now I would guess, but it can have long term negative effects. I keep mine at around 750-800 range. I am 55

I do one injection a week with a tiny needle I cant even feel, and I take an estrogen blocker twice a week. (not everyone needs the latter)

The only side effect I have is red blood cells can increase. Every so often, such a year or year 1/2 I will find myself feeling lethargic/tired. I track down the Big Red Bus, donate blood and the next day I am feeling great again.

I stay on top of having my blood being checked such as every 60-90 days.

I have no idea what would happen were I to stop as it's been so long, but I will say my stomach is pretty flat, have a decent physique without going too crazy in the gym, have a lot of energy, and did not get passed too much by others on my snowboard this past season! :)

Started on the Testosterone Cypionate 2 months ago, going this afternoon for the first check up to see where my levels are now. I'm 70, my level was a little too high for insurance to cover it, but it's less than $40 for a 2 month supply at Safeway with GoodRx gold. I feel better for sure. It's nice to be bricked up in the mornings again 😄

I 2nd this! I tried the Gel for approximately 6 months with little results. My T-Level would never get over 295. (I was around 230 when I started) Then I went to Injections and I was at 790 after the 1st month. Let's just say the .Mrs is very very happy now, lol.

I would recommend if you go the injection route that you ask your doctor to include an estrogen blocker.

You need to be tested for total T and free T, (free T is what is available to be used), not bound by binding proteins) in addition to estradiol, hemoglobin, etc. An expert with know what you need. Please do your own research from one or both of the World's most peer reviewed experts on HRT and TRT Dr. Abe Morgantaller Harvard Med, and Dr. Larry Lipschultz Baylor Med Houston, TX. Most TRT and HRT MD docs in USA follow one or both of these gurus as they have researched HRT for decades and have more published white papers and books on the subject. Abe Morgantaller book "TRT for Life" is on the jungle, while an older edition it still is correct. Injections are precise dose and can be slipt up into micro doses. Gels are better than 0 but can be imprecice and risk of rubbing off onto others.

At age 60 most men have 20% of the Testosterone as they did in their 20s. What does that tell you? Same for females after menopause. They should have been on HRT including Testosterone for the correct amount. MY urology doc a female was a student of Dr. Larry Lipschulz so I went to her and she follows his teachings on HRT. Couples go together or I see just females only. The wife started her HRT after menopause and is still a very wet and strong walled vagina compared to her female friends that have a Sahara desert with thin walls.

My wife goes to Dr. Prudence Hall in Santa Monica for her hormone treatment and analysis every year. This includes every test known to (wo) man.
Your correct, us guys just go thru life and when it comes time to take a pill, we do just that.
I agree, there should be an emphasis on men's Healthcare much sooner. Unfortunately, men are lazy and health care is just trying to save that almighty buck.

Aromatase.....anybody heard of it? I just heard of it yesterday on the net. Supposedly it converts testosterone to estrogen naturally in the body. Their statement was if you have aromatase producing in your body it defeats the efforts of TRT because it just gets converted to estrogen.
