Well thought I would post a little Thread about our venture out to Springtown Texas! How to drive into Fort Mohave from Esperia this morning to pick up U-Haul truck instead of renting from California and saved $2,500! We will be relocating to Texas and starting our new adventures there. We are fortunate that we have friends that are going to assist and our move. We do believe that we should be getting everything there in one Hall besides the boat and one commuter car. I'll try to post as we go! First thing off we started and found a guy last night selling diesel fuel at the pump for $2 a gallon in Cali! So we also saved $400 in fuel just to start going to be promising

Will do shunter. The house is on Amanda Lane. Off jay bird about 2 miles north off the 199
Holy Crap!!! I thought you were talking about Old Springtown, near Houston. I just looked it up and you are north of Ft.Worth, about 200 mi. from me. Sorry about that. However, you are close to Eagle Mountain Lake. A really nice lake. Not to far from Possum Kingdom Lake. A very nice place. I think one of the RDP'ers lives on it now.

Please grab a shirt on your way in, and don’t forget to close the door behind you.

Love Texas. I was there in Austin for 5 & 1/2 years on a “90 day” consulting job. Loved it. No state income tax, low gas prices, low housing costs, great people, nice lakes. Good luck. I’ll be back soon.

So today is the last day before our departure have some friends coming over to help. We had planned on staying through our kids baseball allstars and departing after our good friends daughters first birthday and both of those thing fortunately worked out.
As i said before we have a bunch of help so traveling will go as followed
Motorhome pulling truck
Uhaul towing commuter car
Buddys truck pulling stacker trailer
Buddys truck towing gooseneck with k5,vw rhino and wagon if it will fit
Wife driving other truck towing horse trailer
Hay burners will be picked up today and delivered around Thursday.

Stopped by my 95 year old grandmothers to say goodbye but guess she was out on the town.

And then one last fill up in this great state. And if you got to drive the empty uhaul on the 40 west. Ypu know they definitely need the tax money for the roads!

What do you mean you found a guy selling fuel at the pump for 2.00?

Was he making out credit cards for cash or something? Lol

His story was that he is an owner operator for a company that he gets charged a certain amount of fuel every month and if he doesn't use all the fuel hes charged for it goes to waste. So he had a surplus left and he met me at the pump and swiped his card. I really didn't ask to maby questions after we weren't swarmed by cops or something. Lol

Fueled up Mh also my buddys truck then the white trucks tank that has a 70 gallon auxiliary tank and he also brought a 55 gallon drum! All for $420.

Lol. Interesting story! I’m sure it wouldn’t hold water but who cares.. not your problem and you are leaving them in the rear view anyways!

Rigebacks....for crossing the Rockies.

I'm jealous, we are still hostages but it's a thread I hope to make one day.

Welcome to the Lone Star State. You are not too far from us. We are in Argyle, a few miles from Texas Motor Speedway. DFW RDP chapter sounds like a good call.

It's a weird feeling. I did the small, one state jump. About 600 miles or so. Lot's of trips with my old race hauler.

It's a big city thing. Houston has potholes that can swallow small SUV's. Water leaks are another deal. In dry spells, so many water mains burst, it takes weeks to get 'em repaired. Never trust a pothole full of water. There may be a Prius down their:eek:

What highway in Texas that is NOT being worked on. Drove through a few weeks ago from New Orleans and everyone is under Constrution with not much work going on.

But do like the toll roads with posted 85 mph speed limits.
