Go over to www.yellowbullet.com and do a search, some good info on the HyGuard. add a pint of red trans ATF for color so you can see it on the dipstick.

Not really, I use a Lokar that bolts to the midplate and doesn't leak!

I race with an Art Carr TH400. Since new, I have used nothing but Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF; many races, tons of play, zero failures. I change it a minimum of 2-3 times per season depending on what's going on (4.5 qts).

I use the stock GM composition gasket, no cork due to the invironment (water in bilge etc). The 4.5 qts I listed is with the enlarged pan.

This sounds somewhat primative but with shortened dipsticks & such, one true way to tell if your oil level is where it should be is when it stops explelling from the breather. Once that is accomplished you have an accurate baseline level. I use a drill motor pump to change the oil and displace it into a clear plastic container. I reinstall the exact same amount. Simple and effective. G'luk Mikey

Are you running a dampening plate or solid adapter? Good info on the oil.

I just bought a solid adapter for it.

Shit. Wish I would have known. I would have given you the one that came out of my boat. We went with an aluminum flywheel and dampener setup.

Depends on line length and tranny cooler size if your running one .

Swepco. But I'm not sure it's as critical as when you have a torque converter building heat

You need to check if the length is right on your drive. If your running a 3/8" mid plate take that into account. If it's to long it will put pressure on your crank and take out you bearings.

The TCI unit is adjustable for different motor plates.

The TCI piece won't put pressure on the flywheel or crank.

If you use the TCI try to find a steel not aluminum flange. I had an aluminum one go bad.

I assumed theirs was steel, guess I'll have to check on that. Thanks for the heads up. At the rate I'm going I won't need it till winter:grumble:. How's the new boat?
