One of 2 things IMO.
1 - ECU crystal popped
2 - Fuel Pump - remember Merc has a fuel pump warranty on the older models. You pay service hours, Merc covers the parts.

I have experienced both and both had very similar startup symptoms

yep, was like that for both for me. Wanted to start but no dice.
Fuel pump has a low pressure and high pressure pump. Make sure both are tested.

I've been towed twice in 5 years and have towed others 6 or 7 times in that period.

We even unknowingly saved a backpack full of weed from a sinking boat full of dudes that were stoned outta their minds. The Captain of that fateful skiff offered to name his first born (or maybe second since he couldn't quite remember) after me.

Ironic you should say that. I just recently went rhrough my 270s and was telling everyone the same.

Sorry guys in and out. MIL is going through some stuff so I am working and covering the home front so my wife can go and do.
