I just wanted to post a few pictures of my son who just retired form the Air Force this week. I don't want to brag about him but I am really proud of the man that he has become. He graduated from the Air Force Academy and then became an A 10 fighter pilot then an Instructor Pilot. From there he went on to T-38's as an Instructor Pilot for the B-2 Bomber Pilots. Since it costs so much money to fly the B-2's to keep current the B-2 pilots fly the T-38's instead.
One of the additional jobs that he had concurrently with flight instruction was the development of the "electronic flight bag". Up until now all the pilots used to carry one or two large leather suit cases full of paper charts etc. now they carry an I Pad, which replaces all those heavy, burdensome charts. It also saved the Air Force over $50,000,000 in printing costs along with the ease of updating information on the charts is so much easier now. You can now update every I Pad in the entire Air Force with one main Computer and do them all at once, thus saving thousands of hours of tedious page replacing by some kid sitting in at a table trying to stay awake and trying to fight death from boredom.:yikes We couldn't ask for a better son. I will try to post a few pictures of him that show our daughter, two of our grand kids, my wife and myself and of course my son. These were taken Friday during his his Fini flight which was his last official flight as an officer in the Air Force...
