Well we tried Dumont for Thanks giving instead of Glamis and who knew its "closed" form now on;):p
It was pretty awesome. Maybe a little busier than a regular weekend. Nothing like how busy Glamis gets on this trip. a few people had told me it was mellow but if you go Halloween its wild so I was skeptical. LOL Weather was great. Had wind early in the morning Thursday and Friday at like 4:30 for maybe an hour so we got fresh sand these mornings. Saturday and Sunday the sand was pretty beat up. Smaller group this time which was kind of nice. Made going on rides way easier and faster runs. Came home with everything still running.
Pics in no particular order. Flew the little nephews in the buggy a couple times. Great trip!

We made it out there a few times. We didnt go for Santa as that was when they were doing the hill races but the little kids did. My kids are in their mid/late teens and wanted to watch the races instead.

Looks like good times! Ironically, that Chevy Racing flag you have on the rail, is the same that flew on the back of now-your half ton in Pismo when it lived in Arroyo Grande.

I have had that flag for like 10 years. Its so much better made than the flags I keep finding today. It needs to be replaced as you can see it is finally letting go but they just aren't as good. This one is like thicker or heavier material than the ones I keep finding.

I noticed the same. Mine gave up because it had to sit in the bed of my truck year round for a while.

Well I guess Gecko Rd was packed in like a shitshow... otherwise, wasn't much bad traffic through the dunes.... but the dunes were torn up pretty bad. The washes looked packed from a distance.

we made the run to duners diner on thanksgiving morning for breakfast (they posted that they would be open) and they ended up being closed... that sucked... especially since it was the one very windy day.

not sure if you saw the pics of the SxS 5-6 CAR pileup by olds

oh ok, I would like to try Gecko one of these days but I dont think we could do it with a group.
That sucks they werent open. I liked that place but haven't been back since it reopened.
I did see that. I cant understand how that would happen even if they were following that close. I read somebody said it might have been staged. Do you know more.

Wish I knew more! saw the pics and thought "wtf" how does that even happen. Doubt it was staged... I'm guessing everyone after #2 shouldn't be behind the wheel lol.... even #2 is questionable.

Looks like an awesome thanksgiving trip! Glad your family enjoyed it!

Definitely didn’t look as crowded as Glamis. We made the mistake of going to vendors Friday afternoon and once we got closer, we were regretting it. Thankfully we were far enough away from the craziness most of the trip and stayed until Monday.

Got there wed morning and thought the week was kinda mellow. Friday went from camp to swing set was smooth dunes then to olds by 11. But not much traffic by our camp on fri or Saturday vs past years.

Only 2 of us though and couple hundred yards away another group of 6-8 but we’re off into the sand 3/4 mile. My buddy I camped with has that enclosed monster manyx

We day tripped to sand mountain on the Friday after. Had a great time until I cut a paddle on a rock. That almost ended the day except we had pit bikes and a quad to mess around with for the afternoon.
