Oh…he’s a giver😂
Picture from Irvine…those were good times!
Thanks for all the pictures!
How about the time Rick King flopped his boat over and we went into full race mode and had him ready for the second round of the K boat challenge!
That was fun.

I still can't believe Rick dethroned the King the first year! It was super close though like inches when I frame by framed the video. I just saw Rick 2 hours ago at Vrbancic's 😆

Hey Clank didn't Clyde D own this boat in it's 2nd or 3rd life? I remember him showing me a photo of it wanting me to ID the hull.

Yes.
It’s a Lebel. They started making flatbottoms in the mid 60s and went into the mid seventies or so.
When Clyde got it the deck and floors had been redone and it was gelled in white.
Good looking boat.
We were going to restore it, but it was one of too many projects he had.
A little Lebel history.
Don’t see many of them.

Hey BR!
Thanks for this.
I’ll sent it to my little brother.
I’ve never seen that bottom picture.
Wish I was as young as Barry McGown was in the Black and White, but I’m still Havin fun!
That boat was a thrill to drive for sure.
It was a fun morning at the Manor. I can hardly wait for your next project to be finished. :)

I'm not sure who shot this last photo. I need to get all the photos together and send them to you.

Hydro time?
I loved driving the Circle ones.
All wood, floating on top of the water, pitching the boat into the turns.
Too bad they’ve gone out of style.
Circle Boat racing would be in a much better place.
The little Miller Boat, that I drove in the mid eighties would run over 90mph with a 2.5 litre Pinto engine!

Got in trouble with this boat.
We ran it in the 95gps class and they radared me at 116 at Parker
The flats could outcorner me but for fun I’d run them down in the chutes.
That made them think they had to run harder so just about the entire class broke out.
Our Friend Ross was none too happy with me. 😂

circle boat doing at Ski-Land? One of Bud Meyer’s 266 cubic inch hydros.
Harlan Orrin designed, built and drove the boat as a 150 with a Bud Meyers Chevy Nova engine, then as a 266 with a sbc., then at the drags with a injected gas 327.
After Bud Meyer and Harlan split partnership, he formed a partnership with Pete Altman & Wayne Rexwinkle.
At the first meet at Long Beach Marine Stadium, Harlan set the APBA UGH record @ 107.14 as 99-F HOMEWRECKER.
breaking the APBA UNBLOWN GAS, HYDRO, AUTO ENGINE, DRAG record at the Long Beach Marine Stadium, on July 18, 1965. Also, NDBA 100 mph club. We ran for several years undefeated.

Who built this hull?

Witch
Designed by Roberta Nichols. Built by De Silva. Owned by Roberta & Jack Nichols. Driven by Jack Siebuhr.
This outfit started life with a 421 Pontiac with Mickey Thompson heads.

different from the rest. It was always at the races so I paid attention to it but not real close as I was young. I might have some 8mm with the witch in it. someday I need to break out the projector and take a look.
