I believe there was a push last year to get the Browns named changed as well. I think the jury is still out on that one because of the actual history of the name.

Chicago Blackhawks are contemplating a name change, back to their original mascot and name the Chicago Tail Gunners...

What's sick about this whole thing, and a little ironic, the name for the Cleveland baseball team came from a little girl, who suggested they name them "Indians" in honor of Louis Sockalexis, a Native from the Penobscot Indian tribe, who played with the Cleveland "Spiders", 1897-1899. When he would come up to bat, the crowd would do the Tomahawk Chop, and the chant. They felt it would be a good way to honor his heritage, and his place in Major League Baseball, as the first Native American to play in the league.

In any event, if they're going to name them the "Guardians", I suggest that instead of the Indian Head mascot that they have now, they should use a cartoon version of Kevin Costner, and call it. "(Senior) Chief Wahoo."
