Just made it back to Heritage from Five Cities. Took me a little over 2 hours to finally make it. Yes, 101 was closed at Avila Beach, as well as southbound in Atascadero. Salinas River through Paso is flowing bank to bank. Nacimiento Lake Drive is still open, amazingly. Countless mud flows across it. The cut slopes are sloughing into the roadway quicker than the County crews can push them off the road. I swung by the Heritage ramp. For those familiar, the flat plateau that makes up the point is about 5' from beginning to go under. Picnic tables are still pretty high and the small, side launch ramp is still well above the waterline. I'll try and get and post photos when the rain eases up a bit.

Wife sent me this screen shot she took from somebody on Facebook of the 13th st bridge in Paso.... for those unfamiliar, the water, if any, is usually at least 15' below this bridge.

Edit - that isnt just some guy from Facebook. Its the chief meteorologist for the local NBC affiliate who is a damn good meteorologist.

Too bad everything going through there just goes right out to the ocean via Salinas river.
Friends property backs up to the Salinas by Templeton. She posted s few videos of the river. It is flowing!

The water level monitoring equipment is currently out of of service. However, I just heard the water level is now at 777'. This is from the 805webcams at the General Store at the main marina.

Says 73% full on the oak shores site. The numbers are always behind though.

Upper ramp at main Antonia is open. They put the launch dock ls in. Looks like peer parking lot of oak shores is starting to flood as well.

That’s crazy! How big is this lake one end to the other? Let’s say cruising at 80?

Unlike other water ways, there isnt a bunch of driving there. You can cover the entire lake pretty quick, and really the non-speed limited areas limit it to only about 12 to 15 miles (I cant remember what it is). But, there are a BUNCH of coves and the weather is really hard to beat.

Thats great to see.

We started going there in the early 70’s and would spend 4 weeks every summer.
Lots of great memories. I even caught my first stink finger there.

HA!

They will let it all out. Have to keep the drought alive. Dipshit democrats.
At least Monterey county have litigation with evidence against them for illegal management of a natural resource. They haven't even opened the gates yet amazingly.

Your cup half empty? Don't let nature flood your politics. Instead burn some really expensive fuel with a fuck you smile on your face

I looked and the water level is over the top of the concrete spillway. They have to have the inflatable extensions up to get to 100% and with the forecast looking like it is, they wouldn't want to do that at this time of the year unless it's necessary down stream

Couldn't agree more especially with yet another incoming storm this afternoon. They are in flood control mode now...it will be very interesting to see what happens this spring and summer with all the litigation going on.

Websites are saying 85%.

Shit looks to be at max capacity to me. Upper ramp at main marina is in use. Lower parking lot of oak shores is flooded. Water at Heritage ramp is almost to top.

Looking real good. A lot of crap in the water but that’ll subside.

A lot better than a year ago!

Upper lot at oak shores going under.

Water at main marina is just short of the top of the upper ramp. I’d say water is 40 yards from the old restaurant.

Looks as if the water is at the tree line. Full boat!

It is essentially 100% operational capacity. Anymore than that is flood control by way of using the extensions. That's when the water gets to the picnic tables on the point and puts the entire ramp under water at Heritage.

I've always felt about 780 is about perfect for the lake.

When did they add the inflatable thing on the dam? I went to Naci back in 83 and 84 when Parker was closed do to the flood. Water was flowing over the spillway and there was no inflatable device on the dam and wow what an amazing lake with all that shoreline. The dragon lives as long as they don’t mismanage our water.

Not sure. They call it an obermeyer gate. Between 787.5 to the top of the gate at 800' is flood control.

The before and after (1 year difference) slide bar on the webcam website is pretty cool.
