We were there signing people up for Desert Storm. DeFrees walked over and asked what a poker run was.
He said "cool, sign me up, I just bought a boat."
I asked which one...
"the 34' DCB right over there. Cash."
About a month later at the poker run is when he cut across Predator's wake and smoked a motor. Still have that vid somewhere.

Hard to believe that was 20 years ago. While I was there I was trying to buy a 22 Schiada with a TT motor and an Arneson Drive. The boat was built by Howard Arneson for his buddy that was an executive at Warner Bros. studio. I could never actually meet up with the guy to make the deal. I was going to tow it home with the lick this pilot/chase truck i was driving. Never saw that 22 again.
