Just started these girls. Clones, not from seed. Running 400w of LED(first time with LED) that's what they were started with and they are liking it. This will be the first time for me with LED veg to flower. I have a 600w on the way for top lighting and the other 2 I have now will become under lighting! Pretty stoked on the LED's cause in the summer, with the MH and HPS it's a bitch to keep the temp down!

a quality led will out perform the hid...........i was a sceptic, but not now...........low heat , low cost to run, and DENSER flowers

but allow for 2 feet of distance, or they will stress.............not by heat, but intensity......look for burnt tips

I got the clones from my neighbor. He is a commercial grower and has switched his clone and veg rooms to all LED and he told me the same. Even just using them in clone and veg have been producing better with bigger, tighter nodes and more weight per plant. He just switched one of his flower rooms to all LED also.

I have been talking about LED for a few years but the spectrum was my worry. Now that they have the spectrum figured out, I'm all in on the LED. Just the cooling cost of the room will be a huge savings.

In veg I only feed every 8-10days. We "off gas" our well water and use that everyday. I will feed every 5-7 days while in flower with the same well water. But I will probably have to adjust with the LED's as the lack of heat will probably require less water..

the thing with mj is there are so many breeders now, nothing is stabilized........if you breed x with y, you dont always get the cross..........until it is stabilised, you can get either or............not the cross

We have had our "closet plants" for 20yrs or so. And I have been a firm believer that LED would be the ticket. Like I said the spectrum hasn't been there for me until the last year or so. Low wattage with the right spectrum or adjustable spectrum will be superior to traditional MH and HPS.. imo

i am not versed in soil yet..........did my homework in hydro, but i want to do soil

and want to learn veggies also......for weed, you cant beat fox farm ocean forrest, ph balanced and organic.......hard to screw up..........ph is the key in hydro too

the flush not as important with organic soil

This is why I get clones from people I know, and they know what they have. Most of the time, from seed, I get depressed because the dominant strain, when dealing with "hybrid" seeds will be prominent!

We have done hydro, but to be honest I always go back to soil. Less work and more forgiving with the same results. Just more "waste" when you're done. But I can leave for a few days at a time and not worry about it. Timers and fish pumps make watering easy and I'm not "testing" everyday!

If you are talking "legal" be prepared to drop $100k to get started, license, fees, proper equipment, testing, ect. Then figure out the nutrients and "natural" bug and mold remedies. It all has to be tested for "chemicals" per crop! My neighbor just had to burn 20lbs of flower in our back yard a couple months ago because it tested positive 0.002 microns for a chem he used to kill a bug. Now it's all peppermint oil and other essential oils!

If your talking black market and want to take the risk.. have at it!

that's what this thread is for...........that is a pollinator attractor
what is is it and what do you feed it? soil?
It's an ' Echinopsis ' or common name of 'Hedgehog Cactus' . . . . Soil I think is 'Black Gold' sandy mix from Ace hardware.
We feed them with MiracleGrow succulent food in the early summer . . . depending on their stage.

just curious, what does the well water PH at?......i use RO water for hydro, and it goes 8+.........havasu sucks..................hydro needs 5.5 to 6.5.............and soil needs 6-7

having to adjust 15 gal at a time is a pain in the ass.......why im thinking soil next time

Honestly couldnt tell you havent tested it. I just know that we have a complete RO system for our house water. But they like the well water alot better. We fill 5gal buckets and let it set for 3-5 days to "off gas" and they like it!

The gardening thing got a little out of control over the years. I agree, the grocery store stuff can't compete on flavor and nutrition over compost grown goodies from your own yard. We make our own compost in big batches and are stepping into indoor growing for the first time this year.

I got plants for days. This is just a few pics from my yard. My Moms yard has a lot more. Just getting her green house started for the season. Got some started at my place yesterday. I like squash the most and limited space here. I have tons of Kentia Palms and other plants that I use on projects. Last few houses I built I fully landscaped with plants I had. Lots of avocado trees going. Few months and there will be more than we can eat. Mom lives on a busy street with a school. She puts all the extras in a box by sidewalk for free.

I find these "Grow" threads on RDP so interesting, enticing, yet also intimidating as simply growing bud seems more like a chemistry class.
Was surprised when checking out the lighting section of Home Depot the other day to find a vast number of LED grow lights. 😁

Here’s something for the folks who may not feel they have enough room to grow produce. If you’re a condo dweller and only have a small patio?
This is the GreenStalk verticals growing system.
This was after the simple assembly on Feb 22

Right now this unit is averaging about 3 gallons of water 2-3 times a week. It takes about 45 seconds to water.
