I know some guys in our Glamis Group had this issue with their Powerstrokes.
They all Lemon Lawed their trucks.

Forced Regens lead to cylinder wall glazing that leads to engine failure I'm told.
Dunno,, just what I glean from the forums from people that claim they experienced it.
I know nothing about it.

Evidently Ford figured it out and this is behind them.
I was told that with the GMC some systems are just defective. Even some replacement parts are defective. Not sure if I buy into that. That could be a carrot on a stick excuse.
May be a design problem plus lack of testing under load.

The GMC 3500 DRW is the perfect tow vehicle for our weight class TH.
Didn't need to bag it, tons of power when it runs right, fucking fun to drive. Nice truck.
Yeah, when it runs right.

My only advice for people going through this is never tell the service writer what your intentions are or what you are thinking or they go into cover-thy-ass defense mode. Leave it all up to them for past discovery and diagnosis.
Keep a cool head and use the system to get the truck replaced or your money back.

Right now we'll wait for the 2021 GMC 3500 DRW and the Ford F450 then make our move. The Ram is in there too, we just don't have a decent Ram dealer around here.
Truck rags are reporting new axles and other design features, plus no more jackass graphics nor ridiculous giant Blue Oval emblems for the 2021 F450 that will be worth checking out. That's for areas of the country where people put their first name on the truck door and their wife's name on the passenger side door. New Jersey south through the sun belt. Argyle sox with sandals culture.

Wife doesn't want to go through this again either and wants to go cautiously with our next purchase.
One more diesel,, then we'll have to go gas if this continues.
Im not a devote loyalst to any of the brands but i spend a lot of time around the horse / rodeo and 90 percent of the trucks are dodge or ford . These people travel for a living towing big horse trailers that are loaded . I will not be buying another ford for a while just out of spite though . Stupid 6.4!! Lol

Sounds good, we're in.

We're getting a 50 AMP plug and transfer switch on the house electrical service. Then the Honda eu7000i for blackouts. They are on sale now, big discounts so that means Honda may be introducing something new.
We always seem to have 60 to 100 gallons of left over gas around that needs to be burned off. May as well put it to good use.

That is a smart move on the house.
Run Lucas Ethanol fuel treatment/stabilizer in the fuel you use.
We have the transfer switch and a 100 Amp subpanel, this is an old school pull the handle Wadsworth Transfer Switch. I am sure you remember them..
Have a Honda EU6500 and a EU2200.
Pacific Graft and Extortion have never been that dependable in the winter up here, so we have done this for years, but this is nothing short of third world status with these CYA power outages.
Got the call this morning our side of beef is ready, and the pig will be ready tomorrow, so keeping our freezers up and running is critical with that kind of $ in them.
I will let you know when dates stabilize for the mountain. Third week in October is probable. There is a big chili cook off at the bar next spring we are planning to be there for that. Will let you know on that when the date gets set.

On the Dodge dealer deal...maybe try to find out who has fleet service diesel techs at their dealers. Then look them up online and find out what their sales dept is like. Good diesel techs make the service dept. My truck is old enough that I have a Cummins trained tech in a private shop who does all my work. With warranty you want a dealer who has the rep of a good Cummins dept.
That is where I would start anyway.
It would be between Ford and Ram for us, but it ain't likely I will replace my 07 for a few more years. It still only has 55k on it and I have never played with the power output. Maintain the hell out of it. Redline Oil, Optilube XDP in the fuel, etc.
Might fiddle with it when we are in Free America.

450's are just buckboard rough and a compromise between a "pick-up" and a "real truck".

I'd stay with the 350 and buy 19 inch wheels if you want the look.

Yes we rolled in Sept First.
Hell of a month for you, hope things come together regarding your truck situation. Southwest desert season is just about here.

TPC I hope the situation with the truck is going as smoothly as it can. These kinds of things are never fun to go through.

Good luck hope it all works out. Maybe bring the dog to litigation. Lol

I walked the dog to a local bar last night. Beautiful night for a walk. All seating is outside like everyplace.
We sit down the bartender brings me a drink and a bowl of water for the dog.

A guy pulls in and his headlights naturally take a minute to turn off after he stops his truck. They shine on Porno Dave and Dave flips the driver off and threatens him.

The guy walks up and says “lets get it on.”
Porno Dave needs this ass kicking and everyone hopes he gets it including the bartenders. No one steps in to stop it except our dog.

Dog got up at attention with a loud deep growl I never heard before. The dog only takes serious in German commands from the wife.

Dogs leash was held by one of the local barnyard girls that were seated between Porno Dave and the truck driver.
The kind of - though attractive that live on nearby horse property, wear boots, a flannel shirt and keys on her hip and have a dip of snuff under their lip.

Dog was going to protect them and it was enough to get Porno Dave to STFU and the situation quieted down.

Porno Dave is an idiot. He’s a left over from when the Porno Industry had a big presence in Simi.

His kind of compliment was when I married Alice he told her “I’m sure Ross appreciates that you haven’t had a lots of dicks in you and he’s never had sex with an ugly woman.”

Waiting for mom to get home from work:

I’m sure that pup can handle anything thrown at him. Definitely a good one to go camping with. No worries about the wrong person stepping into camp.

Just wow. After reading this I’m not sure you are human. Your patience is impressive I would have lost it long ago.
Hope you get your truck bought back soon.
