It's very bright, but won't be full until tomorrow. Jupiter and Saturn are both near the moon tonight and for the next few days. They're above and to the right of the moon, and Jupiter is the brighter of the two planets.

Just coming through the trees here in Running Springs. I tried getting a shot of it but it washed everything out of the photo

Nice photo, DRYHEAT. I always enjoy seeing the planets. Earlier this year, Venus put on a great show. It was by far the brightest object in the sky for about six weeks.

When Christmas rolls around, I'm gonna ask Santa for a telescope. I want to check out Saturn's rings and the moons of Jupiter.

If you’re looking on that from my phone the brightest spot farthest away from the moon is actually just some glare but you can see Jupiter and Saturn in between if you enlarge it on your phone. I couldn’t see Saturn at first. This is just an old crappy iPhone 7 I am cheap I can’t afford an expensive phone🤭

Looks like we’ll bust out the kiddo’s telescope tonight

Right about now, 11:45 MDT, the planet Mars should be visible from Lake Havasu City and Laughlin. It'll be above the Eastern horizon about 10 degrees.

That'll put it a little less than ninety degrees across the sky from the full moon, Jupiter, and Saturn, which are approaching the celestial zenith right about now.

Venus will become visible in the East around 4:00 AM, with Mercury following just as the night begins to fade around 5:30. Mars will be at the zenith, and Jupiter and Saturn will be close to setting in the West

That means all five of the solar system's planets visible to the naked eye will be splashed across the sky just before sunup.

If you happen to be leaving the casinos to be home in time to escape your wife's beating and the sky isn't spinning from your excessive alcohol intake, take a look.
