So now that I've got the new boat I decided to finally head to Havasu for MDW , I know it can be a shitshow but I've never done it.
I jump on the internet and book a room at The Nautical figuring early bird gets the worm , Room is pricey but that's expected on a holiday weekend . Website directs me to call about boat parking which is the main reason I would even stay at the Nautical . I make the call and tell them I want to park in the cove and if its included in my 400 a night room charge . I honestly didnt figure it was but hey might as well try . The next thing out of the guys mouth absolutely floored me . " We have reserved spots in the cove but they are an additional $250.00 !!!!!" I caught my breath and considered before clarifying " $250.00 for the weekend ?" to which he replied "per night" . Are you effing kidding me?? You're basically charging my damn boat for a room at that point !! Who actually pays that ?
Needless to say that reservation was cancelled .

And if a hurricane comes your boats safe lol

When that damn hurricane rolled through Labor day 2019, even the cove boats were getting beat up! Luckily, I had put mine on the trailer in the afternoon.

What a shit show.

They used to charge much less and it was first come first serve in the docks for free. So I usually kept mine in one of the dock spots. There is usually some room on the ends of the cove for free as well, but the keels of your boat can grind on some of the small rocks on the end spots.

Our group was talking about the price hike last weekend. It’s crazy how much it shot up over the years. As @Havasu Hangin' said, Heat and LBR are better alternatives. Nautical was my favorite spot at one point. The service seems to get worse every year and pricing is going up. VRBO and Marina spot is a solid option also.

Same here! And why can't they get their act together on the service? I used to beg to stay on property to eat and drink, but I find myself getting frustrated and giving up now.

I rolled solo late summer to Havasu Landing/ Casino .... it worked out well .... Room was nice ... killer lake view... I brought my own food so I can’t give my 2 cents about the restaurant. I kept my boat in the water .... I forget the cost .... wasn’t too bad though.

I remember rolling up to the nautical cove on a holiday weekend like 10 years ago, dumped the boat in some spot and went to get drunk. Came back late in the night no tickets or problems. Made it back to launch ramp no probs. Must have been after the financial crisis now that I think of it lol

Aren't the docks at the nautical free?

I'd rather have my boat at the dock then on the beach anyways?

RD
I haven’t checked into dock pricing for a couple years. Last time was on a slow weekend and it was free but not reserved. I’d avoid those docks overnight if possible. A little wind negates a great tie down.

Nautical can suck it. The entire place needs to be bulldozed and rebuilt. Except the pool - that's nice

the 10 year master plan rebuild, is 10 years behind schedule.
if ran correctly, I think they could make $$, but the GM is an ass who thinks he has the best place to stay.
The Heat blows it away and with the remodeled bar at the Heat being built, it gets better

Pretty sure they are free, but in horrible shape last time I was there.

The Heat is adding more rooms on the bottom level. They’re turning all of the old stores into rooms to add capacity. The docks they have are awesome. Wide enough for newer boats and somewhat protected from the wind. (The largest issue is boat/trailer parking) They do need to update and sanitize the Inferno rooms.
It’s tough to watch Nautical continue to slip. Great location, good ramps and parking. Their maintenance program must consist of only crucial repairs. No money spent on basic upkeep.

They said the docks were included first come first serve no overnight parking . I looked on vrbo and got a waterfront spot at the beachcomber

Holiday weekend = 250
Normal weekend = 100
week day = 50

Even at the $50 weekday rate my boats going on the trailer, lol. I could pay my mortgage for my Havasu house just from mooring my boat for a week there.

Did the Nautical recently change ownership or something?

why yes to rentals.
Dock spaces are apx $50 a night when you can get 1. Last summer, I submitted a request every-time I was in town, never got 1. Beach spots were always taken by Thursday afternoon. Expecting the same this summer if my summer RV spot is renewed (All contracts under Mgmt review and know 3 folds not invited back already).

The Nautical has had very poor service and maintenance for years, getting worse every year for both hotel guests and time share owners (glad I got out of that time share deal). It is a huge waste of prime lake front property.

how did you pull that timeshare offload off?
I can’t give mine away and when I wanted to just turn it back in, they wanted to charge me 2500.

Last time I stayed at the Nautical was "01" for spring break and we strategically got a room at ground level on the bridge side. I anchored the boat in about 5' of water, one off the front and one off the back. Worked out great at that time of year. I wouldn't try that during monsoon season.

I canceled the time share deal before it closed. For my “free weekend” the room smelled like sewage ( the sewer line must have backed up on the carpet). I got a new room and was locked out of the room 3 times, had to track all the way back to the office, what a shit show. I checked out early and will never go back.

Not 100% sure. I know you can rent them by season ($250 a month for the summer April-Oct). Waiting list based on years in resort. Daily rentals are first come first serve based on availability. Mgmt has 6 slips set aside to us as needed - I got that once since I had my MIL with me and she has a handicap card for her knees.

We sold ours on a Facebook classified page a few months ago.

I like the Heat for the docks and location. However, it needs a major remodel. Place is run down. Stayed there a couple weeks ago and it looks like they were working on several rooms.

I like the heat as well but with no ramp or parking for the truck and trailer that makes it tough for me.

I used to do the Nautical all the time, and then started doing London Bridge Resort instead as I prefered having a reserved dock, and not having the boat subject to monsoons and unexpected weather. More often than not, we'd come back to Nautical at Sundown and our parking spot in the cove would be gone, or somebody would have squeezed in and the spot wasn't big enough to get into. Eventually, we just started reserving a slip at Havasu Marina, and staying wherever we wanted, and this is what I prefer now for Havasu trips. Rent a nice house and split it with my brother or a buddy, and keep the boats in the marina for a long weekend. Stress level went down, super easy. Now....not as easy as the Needles house.....but as easy as it's gonna get for Havasu

The Nauti docks are in open water meaning 0 protection in a monsoon which can come in minutes
Better off with Marina slip, protected and can book 90 days out
Can rent a great Havi home/ pool for way less

When we were there in oct and docked at their docks for 5 or so days I found the docks in pretty nice shape. And I tied up Florida style where you’re not actually touching the dock. Little safer that way. we however were t staying there, friends were and we used their room for the slip. It is first come first serve.

I would like to take the time to thank the POS Nautical Inn after many years of staying there with overpriced rooms a fee this and fee that boat parking charge on the beach, backed up hairy showers 😲, no towels or house keeping, shitty rooms, shitty food and shitty service, dusty as F**K boat trailer parking making it easier for me to justify the fact that it was time to buy/ build a home in LCH thank you so much 😁

I'd also like to thank the NI Bar this last summer while after taking a large group of people there lunch and having them all walk out and back to the Bote' after waiting 15-20min for a server to come by the table, thanks' server you saved us $200-$300 for lunch and drinks that afternoon.

We ordered Pizza for $40 and enjoyed it on the beach with cold ones for the ice chest @.55 cents a pc.

Good riddance NI. Buh Byyeee :D

Those Docks are fairly new as of about a year ago, most people are talking about the old Docks like the one off the bow of your Boat.

All
The guest docks looked like the one in my pic. The ones off my bow were reserved for the rental stuff and blow up stuff they do in summer.

pricing at nautical is stupid. Especially when there’s better options. I think LBR only charges like $40 a night to dick your boat. Don’t know about the heat. Rent a condoin the channel and get free beaching. Better options out there for price / quality of nautical.
