Great time hanging with the crew and blistering the Sacto River.Usually I am on my game, but come to find out she was struggleing at buck five:(I had two cylinders of the six 35% down on compression thanks to aftermarket billet cylinder heads with removable combustion chamber domes that keep cracking on me:mad:
Very sorry to hear that Kev. Good hanging with you & Ron

Wild Bill and I got the Talon 300XS running...
We are ready for a test flight....
Maybe in the morning!

We also are getting ready to put the Stage 3 HPDI Yamaha on the 22’ Progression.
I just might put the DBR on the 21’ Shadow and have the ultimate V-bottom Outboard battle with the Progression!!!
Didn’t see that coming??

Hydro Tec set the Yam up?
And the DBR Shadow will be a blast. They like some set back on them.

Yes! It is a Hydro Tec beast....
This thing is strong. 3.3 liters of grunt. Probably 370-380 HP. It will be perfect competition for the DBR.

Just annoying as hell..think I have some spare combution domes and could be back to 100% in less then an hour

Never had any luck with those things. For drag racing I suppose they are fine, but for long runs..nope.

Taking out the Talon again today. I really like the way this thing turns. The engine is running perfect, and the water is going to be awesome. I’ll take some pics. Running a 4 blade BBlades 30 pitch.

I was able to hit plane easily with the 30 BBlades blaster ,without altering the trim from a running position. It jumps on plane.
It loves 75 mph....and the Talon turns like it is on rails.70 mph plus dog legs were effortless. This boat stays in its lane. It has limitations, but they are way above what I’m used to. For that reason, I’m going to try and make this my Delta runner. I look forward to actually running it in the twisty backwaters where it belongs.
Nose runs low, especially with a big guy in the passengers seat. That said, the boat still worked well. I would not push this boat in rough water...my Cougar would safely run where this would be a bit scary.
I must say, I was quickly smitten by the effortless and precise turning.
The power assist system makes for an exhilarating ride.
You will find me on your inside line...

No top end as of yet....hit 85 effortlessly...
I’m pulling off the lower unit and replacing water pump and pressure testing cases. Then, I’ll put her through the paces. Looking for 100 +

Went out this evening for a hot lap of the lake....conditions were optimal. I slalomed the course on a rail...so nice!

No power at the house...I’m in the PG&E kill zone. Maybe power tomorrow...I think I’ll just go boating to offset the issue. As the lake lowers, the course changes quite a bit. It’s the best when you have a friend to brawl with from corner to corner, but there is a certain beauty to a solitary run on perfect water. Driving becomes more enhanced...
The heartbeat increases..
On the edge of adhesion you complete the turn , only to have to instantly prepare for the next turn...
DAMN GOOD STUFF !!!!!

I hope the planes and helicopters get it out....

Let me know if you need me to get up there & help get whatever out. I have a 24' enclosed trailer we can load up quickly with whatever.

We are okay...they were able to contain the fire. Good job by our fire fighters.
Thank you for your kind offer to help, Rob.

Went for a roll today...
I’ve been getting a water/heat alarm at higher speeds, so I changed the water pump. It helped, but didn’t cure issue. Put it on the computer and saw a 20-30 degree difference in port and starboard banks. Pulled thermostat and checked for debris. None found. Possibly dislodged before we checked. Measured engine height at 2” above. Moved engine down to 1 1/4 above.
Conditions were outstanding today. We had gorgeous water to run on.
I’ll be testing again real soon.

Headed to Havasu next week to retrieve my Cougar. Joe Abellera is doing some mods to her gauge set up. I really look forward to a session on the lake. It will be quite a reunion.

I was at Joes today and gave your boat a real hard look over! What a cool ride! I know you were looking to sell, but you cannot be disappointed to be taking it back home!

Thank you for the kind words...
The Cougar is a mean ride...I’m really surprised nobody snapped it up. It would be 90k to duplicate new ... I guess the public isn’t looking for a 120 mph bullet.
It will stay in my growing collection.
