(What a great evening! The lake was tougher than john Wayne toilet paper. Not a single boat out on the lake at all. No jet ski’s, not a single mirage or stv in sight. )
Saturday the wind was about 9 mph when we put the Hydra Sport in. By 4 pm it was gusting about 25 mph., we tied up at Sommerset for a couple hours and waited to pull out. It was still 2 to 3 footers at the ramp when we pulled out. Got the boat on the trailer and the waves crushed over the back and filled the boat full of water.

Barn find so to speak, needs some TLC but its all there. Took it out on Havasu yesterday morning at sunrise, shit ton of fun before work. Gonna re-do the trailer and fix up some of the wiring and other little things it needs.

Looks like a boat that used to frequent the Big River area (John I believe). Same one?

Not sure, a dad bought for his 19 year old son to use in Parker, but figured it out the kids was going to kill himself in it so he got him something bigger and slower. I think they bought it back east or in Texas.

Actually I just checked, yeah it was used out of RiverLand, just up from Big River

I loved my Mirage! Love that boat. If you ever do anything with it down the road be sure you think of me. =)

Spent about 30 minutes ripping around just outside of Windsor the other morning before work, tons of fun.

Still a bit concerned about how it will do if I come back from the breakfast up river and the lake is blown out, how it will fare. I am sure I could keep it just off plane and take my time with the bow high if I had to. 21 Daytonas I have had were quite a bit heavier and could do pretty well if you stayed in it and went across the tops.

If you guys do a mid week run and could give me a few weeks advanced notice I could get up there. Never done the Delta and its not the kind of place I want to figure out on my own.
We would love to have you come up for a Church session! We do have a lot of fun! The Delta never gets old...so much great water...so many miles to run. Unique place to superboat!

Years ago there was a guy up here in Washington who built a 25 Warlock with a turbine. I never saw the boat and wonder if that could be the one. How many 25 turbine Warlocks could there be??

Well if you had one in the NW, John Hice’s was built in FL, so at least two?

It was fun watching it come together. Here’s a link to the build thread:

https://www.screamandfly.com/showthread.php?330722-Turbine-Warlock-Project&highlight=John+hice

John is a personal friend of mine, and not only is his brain always working on the next project, but he does great work. He’s also a cool cat to hang with, we’re always gearheading something.

He turned to Gary Stray, crew chief of the former Miss GEICO for technical support. John made a pass at 134 I believe at LOTO a few years back. He’s not afraid to use it, but he’s working on a larger boat for more speed.

Rev is coming to the Delta tomorrow to join me & F14 on his 240 Hallett big block. We will do a leisurely cruise out the San Joaquin River to Pittsburg, hang a right on Sacramento River, thru Rio Vista, hit some back water & make our way to Tonys bar in Walnut Grove for lunch. Not sure where we may go after lunch. I've been told I'm in charge of drinking beer & possibly taking a few pictures......
