This guy used to be the guy in the parking lot when I dropped my kids off at their school. If you went to any function he would be the guy playing the guitar or whatever music.. He was real well known in the Christian community of Calvery..

The very first time I met him I was picking my kids up with Stacy and I looked at her and said

“There’s something really f’ing wrong with that guy.”

She said I was being an asshole..

I never said anything but me and this guy were always kinda stand off’ish.. because like I said there’s something wrong with this guy.

The day he got arrested I said “Told ya.”

A few people believed he was innocent.. some didn’t.

This was the result. 24 years shitbag!

true story,,,I worked in 2 prisons next to each other, Lompoc and 'lows'. The Pedos were keep at Lows since they would be killed in the other. Lows was less secure and less 'violent' and 100% more unsettling to work in. The inmates there sat alone and just had a creepy look.

We let them know that if anyone touches you inappropriately you need to let us know immediately. Don't ever feel threatened by anyone, were always here to talk with you and protect you...

Same deal happened to us 20 years ago. Pastor of the Lutheran Church we attended in Del Mar, CA. My wife observed the same thing you did, "there's something off with the pastor, he doesn't make eye contact." We moved away and sure enough, got news the pastor was arrested. Our kids were 3 and 5 at the time. My wife is Catholic and after everything that happened in the Catholic Church and now this in the Lutheran Church, we just quit going to church. Very disillusioned.

The Catholic school my daughter goes to even for parents to be volunteering we have to do full FBI livescan and background. I'm sure its same at Calvary. But like RD mentioned, these predators lurk for decades this process doesnt always expose them, only repeat offenders.

I had an elementary school teacher who creeped me out. Male, late 20’s, too involved in all the kids business. I had a tough year. I didn’t like him, didn’t want to be around him, didn’t want to be in the class and repeatedly acted out. Eventually I was moved into another class.

A few year later, my little brother is in his class. The school held an overnight field trip to the beach. I volunteered to go as a chaperone (which in retrospect, why would they let another child, me 14 or 15 go?).

Anyway, I went, shared a tent with my brother with and didn’t let him out of my sight.

A few years later the teacher is arrested and convicted of child molestation. After a civil suit, School District made a big payout, and in the dark humor we share, we’ve continually pestered my brother “Are you $ure he didn’t touch you?!”

They are out there and a they prey on Churches, youth sports , scouting etc. A good church will do a series of background checks and interviews before they let people in leadership or areas of dealing with kids. I have done some class teaching and working with youth and adults at our church and it was easier to get my CCW in So cal. Live Scan, in person interviews, spousal interviews etc. Even with all that adults are never allowed to be alone with a child. Also adults are not allowed to alone with the opposite sex.

This is called being wise, Security in churches is HUGE issue that can not be ignored.

Churches are places to heal broken souls. It would very naive to think that there are not messed up people inside, that is the point.

Old lady down the street hired a yard guy. Guy moves in and they got married. I googled the guy. Turns out he got busted for shoving foreign objects up a boys ass. The old lady finds out about it from her hair dresser. Shortly after he starts a church out of the house.
Old lady died a few months ago. Dude already has another lady living with him.
