Yeah, the fact sheet I read must've been written by a liberal, flop-flopping feet & meters in the same sentence to trick you. Lol, I was a little like when I typed it out originally but my bad for not being thorough.
So yes, Mauna Kea is ~1100 meters(not feet) taller than Everest from sea floor and ~1000 feet shorter than Whitney above sea level.

I have been up there, and it is freaking cold! It was sorta sleeting that day. Down by the beach it was perfect. Up top, I had to wrap myself in beach towels to stop shivering!

I'd have to ask my mom for the pictures but when we were super little we would go up and make a snowman when visiting my uncle. It snows a considerable amount for sure. The protectors got a dose of it during the protests a couple years ago.
